The bad reviews of service are correct. Both times I’ve been here, my food was made incorrect. But that’s no big deal because I am also a server at a breakfast restaurant and things happen, the server didn’t make the food. What is not ok is how they argue with you and tell you that’s what you ordered. I vowed to never go back after the first incident when the server actually lifted her voice at me and the manager had to come over and correct the issue. He immediately understood what I wanted just fine and corrected the issue and was so nice. Today we were really craving burritos, and were in the area. I asked to add bacon to my burrito (it came on the side and they charged me for an entire side of bacon), again not a huge deal I put it in the burrito. But I didn’t get the extra salsa I asked for, and she charged us for a whole order of pancakes when we asked if we could upgrade the side of pancakes to the specialty ones like you can do at any other restaurant. I should have questioned how 2 burritos totaled to $40. I called and had the displeasure of talking to the woman who took my order because the manager wasn’t in. She told me that that’s how the cooks add bacon (put a whole order on the side), that I never asked for extra salsa, and that she told us that it was going to be a regular order of pancakes. She didn’t lol. We asked if we can upgrade them and she started listing off the pancakes and we picked one lol. As a server myself, the customer service is absolutely unreal. I would never speak to a customer like that. But our food was good! ?

They seemed understaffed, and the service was extremely slow. The table we were sat at wasn't cleaned before we sat down. The staff was very apologetic and nice, just seemed very busy I guess.

At a volleyball tournament for the day. Had a 90 min break in between games. It is an old bar and we got seated in the front and no one came to take our order for 15 min. They said they were understaffed today. We ordered immediately and paid right away. The food came after 45 min (2 omelets) and it was fine. The problem we had was, while we were waiting forever there were multiplePeople coming and picking up large To Go orders. When you are short staffed you turn off To Go orders and take care of the people on the restaurant.

We had an amazing breakfast at Carlo’s. All of our food was delicious, great value for the price, kind service, and the restaurant is decorated so nicely. This is my new favorite breakfast place for when we’re visiting Crystal Lake.

Not a friendly waiter, he seem annoyed when we were ordering. The waiter never came to check if we needed more drinks. Hash browns were burn, we had to remind the waiter of the toast which he brought after we were done with the meal.

First time visit. Menu had a different variety of options, many not found at other restaurants. Service was friendly and attentive. Enjoyed the food. On-street parking a little challenging. Will definitely be back.

Great breakfast spot. Super accommodating when our large group popped in with limited time to eat between hockey games. All of the food was delicious and fresh. Service was super friendly as well. Only wish it was closer to me!

After reading reviews and talking to a friend who ate here, we thought we would give it a try. It seems that they addressed the waiting at the door when you walk in. They have installed a door bell that they hear in the back. Prompt service started when we walked in. Waiter was very responsive. Food was real good. I love homemade tamales and they did not disappoint. Red sauce was real tasty. Omelet was also very good. Country potatoes very good. They have put the old bad reviews to rest. Enjoy.

Really good breakfast. Quick service with a combo Mexican and American menu. Lots of food on the plate for the money. Moving to the area so we will be trying more of the menu .
