Overpriced dogfood.

So disappointing
All I ever want is a snow cone
The sign is always up
Every time I stop
But you never are making them
Please take sign down

A few years ago, me and my grandpa would run by downtown, grab a hot dog and some popcorn, then run on over to the Williams St. Tap to eat inside. It's a wonderful concession stop and I've never had a problem with it. Just make sure to go on a sunny day, m'kay?

Hello. I decided to take my whole family to Pop's Corn Crib on this Friday evening not knowing it would be the most preposterous experience of my life. We arrived at 2:30 and the sign read "Open at 2:30" and closed! We waited in the car for 10 minutes to see a lady come out of her car while on her phone. We waited for popcorn to pop and then placed our order. We waited outside for 45 minutes just for the popcorn to be completely burnt. Don't waste your time or your day or your month. Go buy Pop Secret, much better.

This experience was most likely not ordinary. We got there at exactly 2:30. (The sign on the building says, "Open at 2:30". We walked up and no one was inside. We watched as a young lady exited her car at 2:40 and entered to open up. We waited for a few minutes for the popcorn to pop. We ordered what we wanted and received part of our order. They told us they needed to pop more to fill our order. We decided to wait outside for it to be ready. It was quite cold, but we thought it might be quicker than it was. After a considerable amount of time, another girl informed us that the batch was badly burned. We waited again for the next batch and they finally fulfilled our order. The whole process took 45 minutes for two large and two family sized popcorn. It is great popcorn, but definitely not worth 45 minutes and $33.

I love the popcorn here, but recently I have driven 20 minutes (each way) to find they were NOT open during posted business hours. I have called and left messages to see what their hours might be - but NO call back. IS THIS PLACE STILL IN BUSINESS?

Got a Chicago Dog and a Corn Dog and a couple popcorn balls. All were great! Super friendly, great, quaint little food spot. Prices super affordable. Highly recommend.

Great joint for anything you need in a hurry!

Parking: Olympic cafe doesn't have rights to those 15 min spots, they are also for the other biz in area.

Kid-friendliness: All kids love it

Lived here all my life and never stopped by somehow Until today. It’s what it looks like a little snack shack. Fair prices. The pop corn is very good I recommend it.

When in Crystal Lake, FORGET Portillo's! This place has the BEST JUMBO CHILIE-CHEESE HOT DOGS!. Truly amazing! Homemade Spicy Chile fresh everyday, the fattest, juiciest, tastiest Jumbo Hot Dog in a bun ever and then topped off with melted cheese, onion and mustard. To die for! (next to downtown CL Metra Train Station in a tiny trailer no less.) Very large proportion too. It started out as a popcorn place years ago. New owner since.

Vegetarian options: Onions available

Kid-friendliness: Kids love their stuff big time. Other hot food available besides hotdogs. Popcorn, drinks, fries. Picnic tables and benches available.

Parking: Lots of parking next to train station.

Wheelchair accessibility: ramp, outside tables-see picture

Dietary restrictions: Ask for water instead and watch everyone else enjoy the good stuff.
