We recently moved to the area and when I heard about this place, I was so excited! We finally made it in and loved the vintage tiki vibe and decor inside the restaurant. Unfortunately our experience dimished with each step of the meal.We ordered one of the samplers to get a taste of everything. The egg rolls, fried shrimp, and crab rangoons were quite good! The sauces were excellent. When it came to the main courses they really fell flat all around. A total lack of seasoning on all the dishes, overcooked egg, cheap cuts of meat that felt previously frozen. Even for Americanized Chinese food, it was very mediocre. I have a pretty strong stomach, and my organs weren't liking it.Service was just OK. The water is absolutely disgusting. I got a coke and it tasted so off I couldn't drink it. The Mai Tai was not like any other Mai Tai I've had. Despite that, it was still pretty good and very strong. Prices are very reasonable, but the food leaves much to be desired. We love live music so will give it another shot for drinks and MAYBE appetizers, no interest in anything else.

I grew up here in Crystal Lake and had never stopped in until today, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming yet laid back at the same time. The amount of food we got for the price and quality is unparalleled. Great food, great service, great price. Try the shrimp and lobster sauce

Feels like the Bamboo Lounge in Goodfellas. Hands down one of our favorite spots in town. We're moving away, and making sure to hit up all of our favorites before we leave. Food is great, ambiance is even better. We'll definitely come back and visit this place over the years.

Like the atmosphere and live music, but food has no flavor. It's not that ingredients are poor quality, more that there is no seasoning. Have had Breakers maybe 3x in the last year and keep hoping the flavorless food is a one off, but 3 strikes you're out. New owners bought it several years ago so not original family that provided outstanding eggrolls and mai tai's for decades leading up to sale. I actually did like the shrimp fried rice and crab rangoon (not too much cream cheese, which I don't care for). Dinner companion ordered a dish that included almonds, but no almonds came. Later they said it is because they are out (failed to tell us upon ordering). I think they just don't stock them, as this is the 2nd time in a row this happened. Drinks are not balanced and not like the old days. Parking kind of a nuisance, but always has been and not much they can really do about it.

We had a party of 7 and everything was amazing! Our table was ready as soon as we got there. The food was good and the portions were a lot! I’ve never had an egg roll quite like that before. The atmosphere was top notch. And thanks to our waitress who came out with a sparkling sundae and helped us sing ? happy birthday ?

I was so disappointed! Food used to be the best in the area. Today nothing had it's flavor. Drinks definitely not what we order, I order a Mai Tia, it was definitely not what I order. Service was not friendly. What happened ?????

We've been coming here every year for 33 years on our engagement anniversary (2/14). The food was amazing yesterday and for the most point never disappoints. The owner made a very nice gesture with a special drink for my wife and I which we really appreciated & played a song for us. For a Valentines night there was something missing in the atmosphere, which after we played a song realized it was the music. Without music the vibe was very bland with no energy. This won't stop us from returning, but it may leave others with a different opinion.

Was very disappointed on this visit. Egg roll was over cooked. Egg Foo Young was tasteless. And the glass of water tasted like it came out of the lake. Previous visit some months ago was very good but not so this time. The waitress was excellent wish the food was too.

The water tastes like iron. So our party of eight ordered diet cokes. They tasted like iron, too. Is something wrong with their water? 3 of our 8 meals were barely edible. Our waitress excelled at putting the wait in waitress. We were there at 4pm when they opened on a Friday night. So why the sloooooowwwww service.

Really great place to visit. Nostalgic setting with a great Chinese 1970s feel. The Mai Tais are the best. Yummy and you feel great. Photos next time.
