A small little donut shop that I can't help but stop at when I'm in Illinois. It has all your favorites and then some. The people there are extremely nice and respectful while also servicing some of the softest most delicious donuts and treats. It might look like a small town donut place but it has quality above almost any other.

Growing up in Danville, I never knew how good I had it with Royal Donut. After traveling the world, I’ve been unable to find any donuts on the planet that compare to Royal Donut. What can I say? They are the best in the world, totally unmatched. I’ve heard rumors that ownership changed hands and it has changed.
My good friend in Danville sent me my favorite donut, chocolate long johns, from Royal Donut to where I currently reside in Beverly Hills. Despite him packing it without proper deli paper and stuffing them into a ziplock bag with 2 day shipping to CA (FedEx actually took 3 days due to the New Year holiday but I digress), they turned out wonderful.
3 day old Danville Royal Donut still beats anything I can find anywhere, especially the more boutique shops in my current neighborhood. In coming to write this review, I was also pleasantly surprised to see every light in the Royal Donut sign lit up. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that before, maybe that’s a sign of new management paying more attention to curb side appeal rather than the donuts just selling themselves. In any case, if you are within 30 miles of Danville or have a contact able to ship you their donuts in the mail, I highly recommend them.

Legitimately the best donuts I’ve ever had. I’ve eaten at some of the top rated donut places around the country and none of them are close. Royal Donut is consistently excellent. Every time I visit my family that lives in town, Royal Donut is always a highlight of my trip. 10 stars.

I grew up in Danville, we all love Royal Donut. I’ve since moved to Indianapolis for work. Today marks the 8th time I’ve been in town & been turned away because Royal Donut is out of Eclairs & Sugar Cookies. The place looks great, the staff is so wonderful and friendly! I am sure the coffee is goatlicious but bring back the donuts please!!!
