My husband and I have been a loyal patron of Jam & Jelly breakfast restaurant for the past 10 years, and it never fails to impress. Teddy, the owner, ensures we are always well taken care of. The food arrives promptly and is incredibly delicious—those pancakes are simply fire! The chorizo omelette is a personal favorite, and the stuffed French toast is to die for. If you find yourself in Darien, Illinois, make sure to stop by this popular mom and pop breakfast spot for an excellent breakfast experience.

Their food is amazing this was our favorite breakfast diner to go, but this morning it change our mind, we got a really bad waitress, I've never felt so upset. First she dropped coffee on me, then after dropping my food off she never checked on us, she was very dry. Everyone else got their ketchup and sauce but us (my toddler and I)and when I asked for some she seemed upset. The only time she did come back to us was when I was halways through eating my my food ,just to inform me that she had my check and she put it down on the table. I will not be coming back, although their food is amazing, I dind't go eat for free, I have never had such a bad experience until today. She didn't even introduce herself, but there was only 2 waitresses this morning, one with black hair and was nice to come give us a food container to go because she saw us waiting, and then our waitress who had highlights, had an accent maybe Russian, Ukrainian. Anyway, I hope she realizes that she needs to change her attitude, smile at least, I work in customer service too but I could never treat anyone the way she treated us this morning.

Stopped on a whim (not from area). Walking in I noticed there used to be very beautiful live Coleus plants (clearly half dead from winter cold blowing in). Gak!!I don't think this is good for a restaurant...half dead plants all over!! They should remove and take them home. I'm a plant lover so no..not in an eating establishment.I noticed the male assistant seats everyone together filling up stations and rows.. we were quite annoyed a table of 2 when they sat 4 to 5 very loud people behind us. We had to get up and move.We ordered lunch and the food is really GOOD and a better bang fr yr buck than breakfast!!They need to work on their soup. We had the chicken noodle. The spatzle type noodle was gummy and hardly cooked. That ruined the soup.Sandwiches and burgers very good!!Wait staff are very wonderful and kind. Very nice people and attentive. Thank you.

We were in a mood for crepes and a brunch order and thought will try this restaurant by our house. Nice ambience and lot of people but the servers were not welcoming . They served others who came after us and we had to wait for a good 10mins for someone to come to us . Then after couple mins , one of the sweetest server by name Anna came to take our order . After that we felt good about that place . We liked the food but the service seemed very selective by the servers - couldn't quite say what was going on there . We felt left out . If it wasn't for Anna , her greeting and for her sweet and welcoming smile - we would never ever go back there again ! All the servers at the restaurant should be trained to treat and greet the customers with atleast a simple and basic smile . That should not be too hard ! But a nice restaurant with good food otherwise

The service was horrible, the waitress almost seemed bothered by having to take a table. She didn’t introduce herself, she wrote nothing down then came back multiple times to ask what we asked for. The. It still came out wrong, I only saw her once the whole time, she never came back to check in. Oh, I did see her counting her tips a few tables over. We never got silverware, their glassware is atrocious, I added pictures to show how unclean these looked. Food was solid, atmosphere was horrible. I would not come back with so many other options in the area.
