Kao Gaeng is a Thai food restaurant in a strip mall in Darien. Due to the pandemic, only carry-out service was available, though the restaurant has a nice dining room. The two dinners we ordered on a Sunday night were not to our expectations. Perhaps, that may be because we placed the order pretty close to their closing time and they could not pay full attention. Also, we found that serving sizes were small compared to other Thai restaurants. Order placing and pick up at the door...
Top notch Thai. It takes a little time for your order to be ready, but no different than cooking from scratch at home. Everything was perfectly made, and delicious. The flavor-town that you get taken to, is just what the doctor ordered.
This place is bar none the best breakfast/lunch restaurant in the area. Everything is fresh and delicious every time, regardless of what you order. The only negative thing there is about this place is the fact it is not open for dinner!
