I came on a Tuesday morning at 9:05 am and they were closed. The owner was inside but the doors were still locked and lights were off. The owner left shortly after without any notification. Why post your hours if you’re not going to work? I wanted to try this place but now I can see why there aren’t many reviews.

Trying this spot out for the 1st time because I love Philippino food and it didnt disappoint. For my main meal I got the curry chicken and bbq pork skewer.

1st off the BBQ pork was amazing I wish I got more than 1 for my meal , the curry chicken was ok packed full of ginger but not as flavorful as the pork skewer.

The lady at the register was nice enough to let me sample the pork adobo and that was 🔥 , I highly recommend ordering the pork adobo when you come in here for lunch or if you cater.

This place has a home style vibe and felt very cozy inside like I was eating was family. I will definitely be back in the future to try more of the menu.

Supposed to be open at 9AM. Got there at 10AM and it was still closed and no answer for their phones. If you're not going to be open on time change your hours.

A nice Filipino restaurant any foodie must try. Place may be a little hard to turn into on location but the food is worth it. Anyone born in IL, filipino community growing up knows this place. A legend. Try the Pancit, Fried Chicken if unsure. The biko for sweet lovers. Don't be shy to ask. They do catering for events and after masses too. A family team of cooks you can trust. Masarap!

My Family and Relatives have been a big fan of Val’s carryout and catering as far back when his store was located at the Brookhaven Plaza. He’s moved to a different location in Darien by Teddy Ted Hots. We enjoy everything he prepares! My favorites are his lumpia shanghai, pansit, adobo, and pinakbet!! You could do no wrong with anything Val prepares!!! He also has a beautiful assistant, his wife who’s welcoming and always accommodating! Please try Val’s cuisine!!

I came by when it opened one Saturday and they didn't have breakfast ready yet, but they made some fresh for me! Garlic fried rice, fried fish, a fried egg, and some vinegar sauce. Delicious and a good price. Will be coming back when I'm in the area for sure!

Title: A Flavorful Journey through Filipino Delights: A 10/10 ExperienceNestled within a welcoming atmosphere exuding family-friendly vibes, Val’s Kitchen Plus serves as a gateway to the heart of Filipino cuisine. During my recent visit, I was enchanted not only by the scrumptious dishes but also by the warm hospitality that defined the experience. The ambiance struck a perfect balance between cleanliness and an inviting aura, making it an ideal spot for a delightful dining escapade. It emitted the essence of a genuine family-oriented restaurant, welcoming patrons with open arms. However, what truly stood out was the impeccable service. The staff at Val’s Kitchen Plus were paragons of hospitality, displaying a genuine eagerness to ensure a memorable dining venture. Their attentiveness and friendliness added an extra layer of comfort to the entire experience, making it feel like dining among friends. Now, onto the stars of the show—the dishes. The palabok, with its vibrant medley of flavors, offered a harmonious blend of textures and tastes that tantalized the palate. Each bite of the meticulously prepared noodles coated in a rich, savory sauce, adorned with an array of toppings, left an indelible mark on my taste buds. The lumpia, a quintessential Filipino favorite, showcased culinary finesse at its best. Crispy on the outside and bursting with savory goodness within, it was a true testament to the artistry of Filipino cuisine.Among the desserts that crowned this remarkable culinary journey, the bibingka emerged as a standout. Its coconut-infused layers of rice cake, boasting a sweet, creamy texture, were a delectable revelation—a perfect marriage of tradition and flavor that left a lasting impression. In conclusion, my time at Val’s Kitchen Plus was nothing short of exceptional. From the savory delights of palabok and lumpia to the sweet finale with the mesmerizing bibingka, each dish resonated with authenticity and skillful preparation. Coupled with the inviting ambiance and the exceptional service, my overall experience surpassed expectations, earning it a resounding 10/10 rating.
