Cast Iron Coffee is a must-visit in the NIU area! The pistachio coffee is absolutely to die for—hands down a must-have. The space is spacious, inviting, and perfect for studying, catching up with friends, or just relaxing with an amazing cup of coffee. Great atmosphere, great drinks, and a great local coffee shop. Highly recommend! ☕️✨

It’s cute on the inside but honestly the outside strip area is full of garbage literally everywhere all thru out. If this was my business I would take that into consideration because it leaves a bad look even if it wasn’t my “job” to do it I would still clean the outside walk area from garbage and debris ( leaves, cups, all kinds of garbage) I wouldn’t go back just because of this. The bathroom was also very dirty ( out of SOAP and TOILET PAPER) at 3pm on a Friday. The latte I got was alright. I was just so turned off by the outside and bathroom that I wouldn’t return.

Pretty irritated that I paid $7 for a “pistachio latte” which was really just milk and syrup…. So I went up to the counter after realizing I was drinking milk and syrup and asked if there was supposed to be espresso in here..since i ordered a pistachio LATTE. And the barista told me no, I had to add in espresso. So I had to pay for a shot of espresso on the side for another $2!! Accidentally tipped $1 when I ordered the latte, definitely regretted that later.. Absolutely rediculous. I asked the barista why it says lathe then and she just said “yeaaa idk why it’s like that”. Genuinely what is going on here? Never in my life have I had to pay for espresso on the side. This was a $10 drink (the smallest size mind you). Tired of small coffee shops stealing my money. This is why I go to Starbucks.

Finally tried this place out. It was pretty good, the barista was friendly and the vanilla latte had a real flavor to it. Much better than spending to long in line at two other places on campus, not that they can't get a little busy.

I ordered the matcha latte and what great bold flavors of matcha accompanied every sip to the last one.

This little gem is my go-to coffee house when I visit my son at NIU. It's a quaint little spot super close to the campus, with great drinks & yummy pastries, and the baristas are extremely sweet and helpful. I highly recommend giving this place a try when you are in the area.
