Only reason I gave 4 stars for food was the appetizer. We ordered spinach artichoke dip, and it came with regular tortilla chips. An upgraded option would have been appreciated.
Burgers where juicy and cooked as ordered. Fresh garnish was very pleasing.

We had a reservation but still had a 20 minute wait, busy place. Once we were seated we were greeted by a delightful server. She was definitely doing the best she could but was taking care a lot of tables. Not sure if this typical or not since this was our first visit. The service was a little slow but she was hustling with all she was juggling. We started with a couple of small plates-- Roasted Brussel Sprouts and the Steak Quesadilla and both were very good. The Pico was spicy. We tried to order the new Hummus platter but they were out of it that evening. The soup was Chicken Tortilla and it was broth based but loaded and had homemade tortilla strips. Nice choice for us but really filling. Meals we ordered were a Bacon Cheeseburger with Fries, the Cajun Ribeye with Oven Roasted Wedges (3 pieces), and daily special of Pepper Steak with Peppercorn Sauce which was delicious, and we were all stuffed and had leftovers to take home. The place was packed and very busy for a weeknight with a several large parties. I would have given them 5 stars if they had been properly staffed for the patrons being served. Looking forward to coming back for a lunch or special occasion.

Had a great dinner with some co-workers. We have been traveling along and so unfortunately eat out most night. Ellwood steakhouse was the best we have found for a quality meal in months! The Ellwood trio was a hit with my buddy. I found the 20oz Porterhouse to be very well aged at 35 days, and it was cooked to perfection, rare. Fresh cooked veggies and sides were great.

Very yum! Great place for special occasions. I went on a date night and had a fantastic time. We shared plates and enjoyed everything - drinks, food, and service. Had the octopus which was on special and was very good. Highly recommend the lamb, it's exquisite.

Visited this steakhouse in advance to a high school graduation. It definitely has a steakhouse feel with a lot of the dark wood formally dressed servers. The food was OK, the service was good and it’s really the only option around this area.

The restaurant accommodated our large group for dinner before a 7:30 ballroom dance event. My only criticism of the atmosphere is that the room was rather dark-- and my glasses took awhile to adjust after coming inside from bright sun. Food was very good, but a bit salty for my tastes. In fairness, I did not request that my fish be only lightly salted. Our waitress was excellent-- friendly, knowledgeable and efficient.

So my fiancé and I wanted to try Ellwood as we’ve lived here for 7 years and never went in and honestly, probably not again for a long time. The atmosphere was calm and cozy which we enjoyed. However our food and service were average at best. We were the only customers in the building for about thirty minutes and our server barely came by. She was nice but after putting our order in it was long waiting for anything. If it was busy I understand but since we were the only two it was kind of frustrating. It did not help when other customers arrived they were getting greeted instantly and helped while we had to sit and wait. We got our drinks and my Strawberry Smash was about 85% bourbon and 15% the mixes so it was not that good. The french onion soup and calamari were fantastic and the bread was nice as well. However the main courses were mediocre. The fries were fantastic but the bacon cheeseburger was bland. My fiancés Mediterranean chicken was okay, mostly oily. For the price I was expecting a little more than what we got. It has its perks but honestly not worth the price.

Nice place. Service was good. We unfortunately made reservations online, not knowing they don't use that system anymore, but they were able to get us in any way. Had an issue with an undercooked meal, but they replaced it right away.

Prices are ridiculous now. The New York strip was 20 dollars the first time I went here about a year ago. Now it is doubled and now is 41 dollars. Also I felt uncomfortable by how many times our table was approached by several different people
