The chicken sandwich was amazing and perfectly cooked. And not to mention that they were very polite. 10 out of 10 would come again.

This is the best shawarma I've had in this area and Chicago. I love the home made garlic sauce. I recommend the entree because it comes with rice. The Chucken was so flavorful. I Highly recommend this place. Give it a try you won't regret it.

The food is absolutely amazing! I highly recommend. I’ll definitely be going back. It’s super close to campus for NIU students and also really affordable. The man was also incredibly kind and made awesome food suggestions.

Amazing food!! All homemade and fresh. Family owned and run business. We had the lentil soup (best soup I have ever had), hummus and falafels (best falafels I have ever had too). I only wished we lived closer so I could eat here more often.

I tried their Shawarma. I must say this shawarma was super tasty! The meat was juicy and full of spices, wrapped in soft pita. It’s flavorful and filling. It was definitely worth trying!
Food is so good. It's awesome. The food is halal. I would it if anybody looking for delicious and halal food near NIU campus.

Went to Halal Pros last week while trying new places to eat with my husband. This place has great food y'all and the prices are way more justifiable than the big M next lot over.
The dude running it was nice and got everything out fast and hot. If you're looking for some good food, give them a shot.

You can tell this is a family business, the people were nothing but sweet and kind. I have never had middle eastern food, they recommended me the chicken Shawarma wrap with fries. I’m not lying ….. it was THE BEST THINGGGG ✨✨✨ I’ve everrrrrr had since being in DeKalb. I’m mad that I didn’t try this place sooner. There is something for everyone, I promise. Please try this placeeee guys. I know for a fact that I will be a returning customer to try more!!!

The food was excellent but the place seems a bit rundown, and the bathroom was admittedly pretty disgusting and in need of a deep clean. Very generous food portions; would certainly return next time in DeKalb.

We recently discovered Halal Pros and have fallen in love! First of all, the owner, Larry, is very very nice, he took time to explain halal to myself and my son. Here is a bit of information on halal, because I know there are probably a lot of people, like us, who had no previous knowledge of this.
Allah’s (God’s) name must be pronounced during slaughter.
The instrument must be very sharp to ensure humane slaughter. The animal must be slit at the throat, by hand, not any type of machine.
These steps must be accomplished by a Muslim or the People of the Book (Christian or Jew). (Many observant Muslims find kosher meat acceptable.)
The animal must have been fed a natural diet that did not contain animal by-products.
A halal animal must live a healthy life that’s free from suffering.
We were very impressed and excited to know that even though we differ in our religions a bit, we definitely appreciate halal. We found out that Halal Pros sources their meat from 2 smaller farms where the animals are allowed to be out living a healthy normal life. The cows are grass fed and all the animals are living in a natural and humane way. They are also not killed or butchered in front of any other animals and it is done by hand. This all may sound like a case of TMI (too much information, but I actually spared you all some details), Commercially raised animals lives and how horrific their end of life experiences are, you should be glad to know that this restaurant doesn't carry any products that were subjected to that type of cruelty.
Now that you've been informed a bit on what halal is all about, let me tell you that everything we have eaten has been amazing! The flavors are very authentic, and everything is made in house by the owners. The pitas come from a bakery in Chicago, but all of the meats and sauces are all seasoned and prepared in house and the time and care put into the food is clear by the flavors and quality! So far we have had the chicken and the beef shawarma, the kufta sandwich, the falafel, and the gyro. If I had to pick my favorite out of those I'd say the gyro, IT WAS HUGE! Stacked so high with such flavorful gyro meat. It was the best gyro I've ever had and I've had quite a few. Close second was the kufta, which is an elongated ground meat patty made with ground lamb and many delicious spices. Everything at Halal Pros tastes fresh and delicious. If you're not into middle eastern food they do have some classic American foods like chicken wings, Italian beefs, chicken tenders etc. They're not the easiest place to find just due to being at the end of the strip they're in. They are the last unit in the little strip across from the junction just down from Rocky's Smokeshop. They offer student and senior discounts and the prices are great for the quality of food they're producing!

i dont see any proof of zabiha halal certification online. please let me know where i can find this.
response to owners:
i gave one star review because there is no halal certification online and in hopes I would get a response (in which I did). im not going to waste my time and gas money to drive all the way to your restaurant if I can't see the certification online. there are too many "muslims" that claim they serve halal food but do not. its our job to verify as such. If you can show me the certification online I will glady change my review
