Just found this place, which has apparently been a Dekalb staple for 25 years. The food was very good, and serving sizes were appropriate. The greeter and wait staff were friendly and responsive. The restaurant seating looks as though it has grown over time to expand into several adjacent spaces; a clear sign of success.
I wish we had discovered this place years ago. We would have many times chosen this option over the tollway oasis food counters during lunch and dinner times.
By the way, the salsa with the chips has a pretty good kick; I love it!
Outside seating area next to the building, but it was too cold last night for that.
Give this place a try. Obviously, it's a favorite with students, locals, and travelers alike.
Parking: Lots of parking behind (south of) the building. The restaurant fronts immediately on the Lincoln Highway right of way.

The service was fast and efficient.they took good care of my wife who cannot have onions and garlic of the fresh variety. The food was especially good and reasonable in price.

Accidental discovery, as we were driving through the town. Incredible food, excellent quality. Service was impeccable. And above all, the smile on the faces of the staff was priceless. Will definitely recommend to my friends and family.

Wonderful dining experience! Delicious food, kind service, and pleasant atmosphere. It was my parents’ and my first time here, and we will certainly be back!

Waiter was very nice. Delicious food and warming atmosphere. I am thinking of moving to DeKalb because this food was so good. I saw this cool cloud that looked like a seal. I appreciate the turtle sculpture, I would like to know where you got it. Overall, lovely restaurant and we love their coloring sheets.

Overall service was excellent. I’m just baffled that you call yourself a Mexican restaurant and are putting Kraft yellow cheese on a lot of your items. Also, I’d recommend not serving a customer a 3 - Day old looking tamale. This place is definitely not a Mexican restaurant. This is a sit down American restaurant with a Mexican / American mixed menu.
