They missed the mark on the smothered pork chop. You actually have to smother them instead of pouring gravey over them. We also ordered fish and chicken which both were fried too hard.

I ordered the short ribs macaroni cheese and candied yams. The macaroni was so dry and old their was fat on the ribs there was nothing to eat,I won't be going back.

I went to get Smother chicken, ask the young lady, what is the meat white or dark, didn't know it was Wings, please change your menu. I got rice n gravy they were very stinky with the Rice and the COLLARD GREENS are HORRIBLE, big and no flavor!!!! I could have went to Crystals for this, at least they give you a good portion.

I went there today and ordered meatloaf macaroni and cheese and yams when I say this food looks like it had been sitting in the refrigerator for 3 days and then reheated....I don't know how anyone could take pride in serving something that looked so horrible the macaroni and cheese was so soggy and looked so old the candy yams looked like they had been sitting at the bottom of the pot for 3 days and they just tossed it in the container and gave it to me the meat loaf oh my God was some of the most terrible food I've ever eaten in my life im still trying to figure out what kind of meat this was..... I do not recommend anyone waste their money at this restaurant

I recently found this place when I purchased a home in Calumet City. Myself, my family and friends have ordered from here several times. Honestly my food has always been fresh, plentiful and flavorful. It's hard to find a soul food place where all the sides DON'T taste like they come out a can. This is now my soul food place on the South Side of town. Great food and always a great experience.

Me and my sister both ordered the short rib dinner with Mac and cheese and dressing with gravy. We were highly disappointed with the dressing having way too much sage and the Mac and cheese not having no taste at all. Hardly any gravy on the short ribs, also. Never again.

I only went there to see the menu and decided to test the food. I figured no one can mess up chicken, so I ordered the wings and was asked, "what are your sides?" I was surprised to be asked that question for 4 wings. I said, buttered garlic spinach and the cabbage. I Got home and had to go back to the restaurant because my chicken was gummy, not completely cooked but the crusted batter was good. The replaced wings had no seasoning but still a little gummy. I only ate one. Ok, I still had my sides ?. I never knew that anyone could mess up cabbage and spinach. The cabbage was really oily and sweet tasting, seemingly with no other season added and i can't describe the taste of the spinach but I can tell you that the cornbread tasted like cake, sweet cake. Needless to say I literally threw away $15, I can not recommend this place. ? 1 picture is my order and 1 is my entire order in the garbage.

Food/ service hasn't been the same since the owner passed. It used to be really good but the last few times we ordered were not pleasant & the very last time we ordered we were given spoiled macaroni. I hope they can get back to what they were before.
Jacqueline and I ordered two dinners through UberEATS this afternoon because for the first this week, I had an appitite since starting chemotherapy. I woke up wanting beef short ribs, rice/ gravy, dressing and greens. Since the Chemo, my mouth is sore and swallowing is difficult so I REQUESTED EXTRA GRAVY ON THE RICE AS WELL AS THE MEAT. I was so disappointed because I had a tablespoon of gravy on the rice and absolutely NOTHING on the beef short ribs. I wasn't able to eat my dinner so I gave it to Jacqueline and ate some fruit. I spoke with the owner who stated she would try and bring a replacement, but so far ... Nothing. I couldn't rate it because I was unable to eat it. This was our FIRST time trying this establishment. I wish them well .**UPDATE**I can now give "Save Me Some" a 5 Star Rating. The owner reached back out to me and went way above ANY owner/ restaurant I've EVER dealt with to ensure my satisfaction. I'm deeply grateful and appreciative. I was too exhausted to eat, but trust and believe I sampled a little of everything I received and I will forever be a loyal customer when I'm in need of some great Soul Food. I see nothing but GREAT things happening for you. Thank you and keep up the EXCELLENT customer service.

Honestly their food is the great but I think it depends on the cooks they have because some days it be on point and then some other days it be decent. Overall I love them I have no negative comments to say about this restaurant. I order them all most every week!

I ordered today through Uber Eats and I ordered a T-Bone steak meal. They did not provide a T-Bone steak, but a strip steak. Literally NO T SHAPED BONE IN THE STEAK. To add insult to injury the steak was burnt and crunchy. I paid for corn on the cob and received sweet corn in a container. My sides were okay but they were even warm. This is disappointing and its false advertising. If you know you're not serving T-Bone steak then remove it from the menu. This is ridiculous and this is why I'm giving you a 1 star rating.
