It was ok. Definitely manage your expectations that they have little "food" and no other alcoholic beverages other than beer & cider. Even soft drinks are via can and no ice available.

Great staff, friendly crowd. Food trucks also frequently scheduled for an added plus. Recommended: Alto Porto (seasonal)

I love them. Ambigram is my favorite! It'll be the first place I visit when I'm done being pregnant!

The best hazy ipa ever

Great location, your food pricing is ridiculous…4 pickle spears for $14? Cauliflower appetizer $17? Family oriented city, get your pricing in check

This place in contrast with other breweries on Rogers and downtown Downers Grove offers a schedule that is pretty decent for Saturday nights and beers that are tailored to please the IPA fans. I love the fact that they offer breadsticks, but did not appreciate that price and also I missed live music here.

We had our wedding reception in the Barrel Room at the Downers Grove location in September. Lisa was amazing to work with from start to finish! She was responsive to my hundreds of emails (almost not kidding) and always available when I would reach out to look at the space. She helped me work out my vision for the space, was present during our rehearsal to make sure the initial setup was what I wanted and then was around the entire day of our wedding to make sure things went smoothly. We loved Alter before our wedding, but she and the staff are definitely a reason we will keep coming back and recommending events being held there! Also, not to leave out how awesome the beer is.

Server was very unhappy, very loud, host station was around corner and we had to find him. Food was pricey and less than average. The appetizers were covered in thousand island dressing. I would not recommend this place for food at all. It may be woth the trip for the beer selections

We went to AlterBC after a friend repeatedly invited us and Finally went. It's in a newer business park area, easily accessible and plenty of parking. Taco truck waiting outside that evening. Inside is typical industrial, metal walls, high ceilings, with the exposed tanks, but very clean and not smelly like some breweries. There was a game wall too and there was a lively group whooping it up playing a game, which was especially nice to see ppl having fun. Garage doors opened up to outdoor seating for a nice breeze. This evening the place seemed divided generationally with X'ers inside and young parents outside...although the latter seems common. As far as the beer was concerned, the Orange Whip, a citrus flavored milkshake like beer was really tasty, and hubby had a Cherry Wheat Ale, and the Golden Pale Ale, both which he enjoyed. Service was attentive and good. Overall a pleasant evening, and this is one of the breweries that I'd really like to go to on the regular.

Super friendly staff, family friendly, very nice selection of beer with a nice stable of year-round of beers.

Met friends Tuesday night for Trivia Night with my daughter and I. Parking was easy, outside seating was nice, plenty of seating in the initial entrance of the brewery as well as once we worked our way to the back to where trivia night was. The crowd unfortunately wasn't that diverse, which ultimately also explained why trivia wasn't as well, however that was completely separate from the brewery experience itself. I'm not a beer drinker so I had an Arnold Palmer however my table really enjoyed all of their different flavored beers. Very nice establishment
