The chips and salsa were good. The carne asada in the steak tacos was awful. The meat was bland and tasted like it was left from the prior day and not freshly cooked. The same thing with the rice. It was dry and had no taste. I don't need to go back.

I've been here many times now, and love it!! It's busy most weekends and holidays and nights tbh, lol. So expect a bit of a wait, sometimes. It's worth it. Besides you can walk up the street and have a quick beer at Orange and Brew or Emmett's Brewing Co. while you're on their waiting list. It's just a short walk; get that 5 minute walk in for beer and food!! Enjoy and cheers!

Came here with friends for my birthday. It was my 2nd time. There were 7 of us, so they pushed 2 tables together. I appreciate them accommodating us, but it was Ina right location. I was constantly moving to let people by. I ordered the taco bowl. It came on a plate! It was a taco plate, lol. No tortilla. I enjoy their food. When's it's warm, they can open up the front. Also, they give you a free first round of tortilla chips and salsa, but they upcharge you for any additional.

Have been here three times and each time was pleasant and seemingly consistent! The food has good ingredients, you're served relatively quick, and the servers are knowledgeable with the menu. Bar Chido is more of an "upscale" Mexican restaurant buuuuut if you're not wanting tacos or whatever, they have a burger option with a pretty sweet surprise (order it to find out). Each time i've come here, I have ordered a classic margarita and it is pretty on point. You can taste the tequila, but it's not overwhelming because I really do not like super strong alcoholic drinks. Anyway, the restaurant is not small, but more intimate compared to the other restaurants in the area. If you plan on coming here during the summer, you have the option of sitting outside, which is always nice to sit back and eat your food, drink a cocktail and people watch

New ownership is sub par. Chips and salsa = salt and acid bomb. See you never.

A lot of fat in these tacos. We had 3 different taco meals. The al pastor tacos and especially the suadero tacos had way too much fat. I get it, the fat adds flavor. However it's kinda gross to chew. About half the meat was fat.

It's taken me a while to figure out a fair review for Bar Chido, it really comes down to the good, the bad, and the ugly. First off, the good. The drinks and atmosphere are great! We loved the vibe and the chicken wings were amazing. We would definitely go back for those, but would probably pay cash, I'll explain why when I get to the ugly part. They did give us free churros for our bdays, they were yummy and it was a nice way to end our meal. The bad: we made a reservation and let them know it was for a bday celebration. We still had to wait over an hour for the table. It was okay, because we were able to hang out and wait with our friends, but really, what's the point of making a reservation? Also, the pozole was beautiful, but way too salty. Maybe it was an off night, but they should be aware. The ugly: they added a $60 tip to my friend's bill. He wouldn't have known if his credit card hadn't alerted him asking if he meant to leave a 89% tip. When he contacted the manager he was told it was because they were busy that night. As I mentioned before, we were seated an hour later than our reservation. It wasn't busy by the time we were leaving. The only reason it was flagged was because it was such a large tip. If a smaller amount had been added, he probably wouldn't have known.

Our server was Riley. She was the best she let us picked up some selection and she was beyond amazing with her customer service. I absolutely love her and she’s honestly the best customer service really friendly. Best service out

Such a nice place, the food is so original and the service was outstanding! Be prepared because is a very busy place, it took us 3 times to finally dine in there but, it was worth every penny.

Tonight was our first trip back to Bar Chido since the change in ownership. I will say that the food was quite good, but the service and portion size was very lacking. While the prices are close to what they were originally, the portion sizes have magically shrunk. Tacos are now "street taco" sized portions. $17 for three steak street tacos seems a little high. As for service, our server took our order then disappeared. She reappeared after we were done eating (never having checked on us), dropped the check and then disappeared again. The manager actually had to stop by and process our check after he walked by two or three times and saw it sitting there. It is really too bad, since we used to enjoy having a few beers with friends and dining there. Too many other good places around the western suburbs for tacos! Cheers and via con dios!
