Came here because egg harbor had a long wait. Omg. Everything was sooo delicious starting with the crab beignets and it only got better from there. The salmon avocado toast my wife got was really good and i got the spicy shrimp omelette which was really good. The shrimp on top was nicely spiced and really tasty. Definitely a come back to place!!!Vegetarian options: Good vegetarian options

So, we were on the hunt for a spot to grab some dinner and stumbled upon Cadence Kitchen & Co in downtown Downers Grove after reading some reviews. We decided to give it a shot.Getting seated was a breeze since the place wasn't too busy. After scanning the menu, we thought we'd kick things off with some sharable appetizers. We went all out and ordered the Crispy Cauliflower & Giardiniera, Crab Beignets, Short Rib Empanadas, and lobster. Yeah, we went a bit overboard.First up, the empanadas. Our server recommended them, but they fell flat. Tasted like reused oil with zero flavor. Not a great start. The crab beignets redeemed the situation a bit. Tasty, although a tad oily.My wife seemed to enjoy the cauliflower, but it was just alright for me. Nothing special. Now, the lobster... Oh boy, what a letdown. Presentation was lacking, taste was off, and we couldn't even force ourselves to finish it.After that disappointment, we decided to call it quits on the mains and headed out.Overall, Cadence Kitchen & Co had its hits and misses. Maybe stick to the safer options on the menu next time

The menu at Cadence has variety and you can try many things due to their small plates and shareables. The cocktail menu and draft list are also solid. The wild boar empanadas were the favorite of our meal although everything we tried was tasty (chicken and waffles, corn risotto, short rib buns, churros for dessert). Service was attentive and friendly as well.Update from 2024: Went for dinner again tonight and everything was consistent. We enjoyed our drinks, apps and dinner! We had the short rib empanadas, the chimichurri steak and the duck breast special.

Today, I attended a baby shower that was at Cadence Kitchen. It was absolutely lovely! We were in a separate room, at the front, of the restaurant. This room allowed for privacy, space to mingle, and no extra restaurant noise. The food was delicious!, the best shower food I’ve ever had! All vegetarian menu provided, as ordered. Service was wonderful! I would highly recommend this restaurant for special events, or for just a really good meal. Thank you for making the shower a hit!

The burrata, French onion soup, short rib empanadas, and apple/caramel tart were great! The service was good as well! The atmosphere was good but it was super dark in there.

We stopped in on a Saturday night expecting that we would have to wait for a table, to our surprise we were able to be seated right away. We shared the octopus, beef empanadas and shrimp with polenta. All were delicious! Service was top notch. We will be back!

The Lobster Potholes were interesting and delicious. The salmon was outstanding, as was the spicy shrimp and polenta ( a bit spicier than I expected though). We shared the apple tart with ice cream, which was also outstanding. It was so good, I went back a few days later with friends!Great place to meet friends in Downers Grove as it is off the beaten path.

Crab beignets were decent, could use a little more crab meat. Shrimp and polenta was pretty good, a little kick to it. Black Angus beef filet I was disappointed in because for the price I expected a bit more flavor. I ordered it medium rare, there was a little pink but not as juicy as I wanted. Mashed potatoes that went with it was a bit too salty. Maybe next time just add a dash of salt not a tablespoon? The apple crostata was like an apple pie except they gave me the dish with the ice cream already melted. Let's talk about the service, it was pretty bad. Not once did I get my water refilled and it took awhile to have our dishes cleared off before the dessert came. The waitress could have been a bit more attentive. Honestly, I thought about going to Foxtail but I was disappointed in Pierce Tavern and Cadence Kitchen. After eating at some of the best restaurants in Chicago, I felt like downtown DG restaurants were just meh at most.

The food here is hands down amazing. The drinks are incredible and so is their bourbon selection! Todd and Tim the owners are true gentlemen.
