Not worth the price, for this price tag I expect a level of service and refinement, that I did not find here. The food was decent, but again I expected more for this price point.
Excellent service and delicious food. Eclectic decor, fairly small room, noise level was good. +1 for playing 'Postmodern Jukebox' as background music.
Carnivore & The Queen is a hidden gem tucked away in a strip mall. I’d driven by it countless times over the years and finally decided to give it a try.
I started with the Shrimp and Crab Bisque, which was listed as a family recipe. While the dish had nice chunks of fresh crab and shrimp, the overall texture was so thick it was actually unappetizing. It was almost like fondue of brownie batter. I found myself trying to finish my cup not out of enjoyment but rather an obligation to the $14 price tag. (I wasn’t successful). Definitely skip this dish.
I had the Beef Wellington for my main course. Unlike some places, Carnivore & The Queen provides a full, thick 10oz fillet that is a complete meal even for the most hungry diners. The mustard and mushroom wrap was the perfect seasoning for the steak, and the prosciutto tucked into the wrapping was a nice touch. The Wellington came with asparagus and a healthy helping of mashed potatoes, too. While the taste and portion size was spot on, I wish there was 3x more gravy as the second half of the steak and potatoes were dry by the time I got to them. I know that’s picky, but a $70 dish ought to be perfect from start to finish.
The atmosphere rivals the classic supper clubs of Wisconsin with jazzy music and flashy decor (which is what they’re going for). Service was great.
In total, Carnivore & The Queen is worth a visit. Just be ready to spend a bit more than the usual place!
Outstanding food in a funky atmosphere
Amazing food!!! Friendly staff, and cozy atmosphere! Can’t wait to go back!!!
Food is amazing. Drinks are out of this world. Service is beyond my expectations. Try the Key Line Pie..... best I ever had.
I highly recommend this place; Beautiful interior; Food was delicious; and service was exceptional. We will be back again very soon!
Please bring back the Queens wedge how it used to be! It’s what kept us coming back. Now, no incredible ranch and you get a big slab of plain lettuce with scatterings of toppings on the side. Please change it back!!
It is always such a pleasure to visit Carnivore & The Queen. The food is always incredibly cooked and they often have really delicious specials too. My husband and I both got the prime rib this time as it was the Thursday special. This is one of our favorite items on the menu! We asked for a quick sear on the outside as I like mine just a touch more cooked than medium rare, and were rewarded with a greeting from the chef who told us that he and some of the regulars also prefer the prime rib with a sear. He was very kind and open to chatting with us for a few minutes, and he and his wife personally cook almost, if not all, of the dishes that come out of the kitchen. They've actually recently added some new items to the menu which have been just as good as their classics so far. The Mac n cheese with bacon on it was cheesy and salty from the bacon, and was a huge portion so we had some to take home. The flour less chocolate cake with peanut butter ganache was my personal favorite from this visit, and was an amazing mix of sweet and salty. But truthfully we've never gotten something we don't love from here! The interior is also so tastefully designed and evokes old school supper club vibes, with a fireplace in one corner, bottles of wine on the walls, and dishware that includes mismatched teacups as soup bowls or ceramic casserole dishes as serving dishes. The staff is also great and very kind every time we visit, usually happy to make recommendations on food and very knowledgeable about the wine and cocktails. A must-visit for both locals and out of towners!
10 out of 10! Absolutely a must try!!

Carnivore and the Queen is absolutely amazing!! The atmosphere is awesome and all the decorations are very well put together and the staff are very friendly. The best part though is the food. I have eaten here multiple time. The ribs are the best I have ever eaten in a restaurant, the newly added veal chop parmesan is unbelievably tasty and you can not go wrong with any of the cuts of steak! They are mouth watering juicy and delicious. If you have never tried C&TQ you absolutely need to make a reservation and check it out!!!
I have dined here several times and have never had a bad dish. Everything is always fresh and delicious and the portions are huge. My favorite appetizers are the white truffle mushrooms and both shrimps, the firecracker and the Dejhonge. The mushrooms are on another level! All of the steaks are always cooked perfectly and packed with the flavor. My personal favorite is the New York Strip as it’s smothered in mushrooms and served with a sauce on the side that’s to die for.
Finish your meal with a slice of one of Chef Chris’s Key Lime Pies. You won’t regret it!
The food was amazing but the service is slow and it takes a long time for drinks to come out. I would go back for the food because it’s that good!
Second visit there & second time with bad service. Waited almost an hour for our food, never got the appetizer that we ordered & my wife got the wrong dinner. After waiting so long she wouldn't send it back then we got the bill & there was a forty dollar difference in the dinners. Yes she could have had it corrected but after waiting that long she didn't. No offer of a comped drink or dessert for the wait, people who got there after us were served first. I won't be going back.
My wife and i went to dinner on a Thursday, Nick was our server. I really couldn't say enough good things and I have absolutely nothing bad to say. Service was great, drinks were excellent, the food, was unreal. We each had the prime rib special the steaks, broccolini and mashed potatoes were phenomenal and the homemade horseradish was a perfect middle ground between the spice and tart which are really over done in out of the bottle versions. Then we tried the flourless chocolate cake and the key lime pie, all frigging amazing. Recommended as highly as possible.
