Our waitress, Kelly, was fantastic. Kind of disappointed in the food. The Happy Hour Smash Sliders my friend had were hard to enjoy with the overdose of mustard on there. My Chopped Wedge was drowning in dressing making the whole thing wet, soggy, and not like the ones I have had there many times in the past.
Good food. Our waitress was busy and they seemed to be short staffed so not her fault but had to ask for a couple things twice.
An attractive restaurant with perfect lighting. It was very busy so a little loud. The service was good except for slowly taking dirty items away. The fish portion is on the smaller side.
The noise level was so high that you could barely hear the person across from you talking. The service was slow and incomplete. I ordered an iced tea and it just came in a glass with no lemon and no offering of sugar, which is what I needed. I had to keep asking for a straw as it did not just come. The temperature was also very hot and uncomfortable. The front desk was rude when I walked in and I had to announce myself two times for a 5 o'clock dinner appointment before they took further action. The food was good, but certainly not at the level that it used to. Going to Cooper's Hawk was always a very special Event to be shared with good friends or family. And no longer seems to be that way.
The way the restaurant was laid out made it difficult to see where to check in, no one greeted me when I entered. The service was ok.. but definitely needed improvement as we had to ask for water refills and containers etc. the food was subpar in my opinion. My shrimp scampi was definitely not scampi, there was little to no garlic flavors. We had to wait quite a bit of time for our food and service as we were there over 2 hours. I've had much better food and service at other establishments
The food was amazing! The wait staff are always so attentive without being bothersome. Coopers Hawk continues to be one of my top three restaurants !
Our server Stephanie was amazing she made our dining experience unforgettable, she answered all our questions and was extremely courteous, professional and charismatic. She is a true gem and want the management know they have a Star in there midst. We will continue to come and dine at Coopershawk because of this experience. Thanks you Stephanie
Cooper's Hawk is one of our favorite restaurants, especially the Downers Grove location. From the initial contact with the host/hostess desk upon arrival through to the lovely dessert for my brother's birthday, the service was great. One of our party has food sensitivities and a gluten free menu was provided for that person. The wine was excellent as always and the menu choices have a variety that would appeal to anyone. Our waiter, Nate, was very attentive and made sure that our meals were served promptly. The entire waitstaff provided the best in customer service. We all enjoyed our night out, especially my brother who was celebrating his birthday. We will be back soon.
Service was terrible. Restaurant upstairs in the bar area was freezing with cold air blowing. Without us saying anything, the host said they needed to warm it up but that never happened. Waitress was horrible. Took forever to get order placed, get drinks, etc. Food was good but difficult to enjoy when you're freezing.
Paola was an excellent server. She was very knowledgeable about the restaurant and its wine. We enjoyed our experience, largely because of her knowledge and expertise.

I have been going to Cooper's Hawks for years. It's one of my favorite restaurants. We had the opportunity to sit on the roof top and I was beyond excited. The food of course was outstanding! I love that there are so many vegetarian and gluten free options. Our issue was the service. It was so disappointing. Our appetizers came. No napkins. Our entree came... no silverware. Empty glasses... no water and no wine. The sun went down and it was dark. Finally, someone turned on the lights. Tried to pay our bill... 10 minutes later I had to go find our waiter. He hadn't even run my card. It will be hard to return to the Downers Grove location. I will go to other locations though.
First time for Coopers Hawk DG, I made a reservation through OpenTable for 6:3OPM. At that time there were only highboys available on the top floor. We arrived in plenty of time and checked in and told it'll be 10 mins. because they were running behind. We waited for 20 mins. watching them seat other reserves for later times on the main floor. My husband asked what was the problem and was told someone who worked the top floor was not available. The Host or woman who makes up the guest cards then made us out a card but continued to push it back seating all main floor guests who had later reservation times. This is disappointing as clearly our reservation could have been made for the main floor at 6:30PM but because OpenTable gave me no other table or floor options, they held us until a highboy on the top floor was open. Starting our night out in disappointment gave you a lower score. It was our Anniversary celebrating 45 yrs. We kept our wits about us and they eventually seated us on the top level. We couldn't have asked for a better Server than Nathan. Handsome, clean cut, professional, yet engaging and light hearted. Nathan is knowledgable; and he calmed us way down and we were able to see value in the place. A Manager approached us to ask if we were seated late and quickly apologized. The Mgr presented us with a complimentary appetizer and dessert. We were ecstatic about it. As mentioned, Nathan was always there when we needed him; making recommendations, educating us about the club, getting our order, and checking on us. We're not alcohol drinkers but appreciated hearing the dynamics of it. Nathan knew when to prod and when to leave us to private conversation. We enjoyed the appetizer and his food suggestion. My Salmon was meh, and mashed potatoes were soupy. We wanted to keep our Anniversary private not expecting extras but we received so many. We tipped Nathan 22% and he surprised us with a couple of truffles on a plate for dessert.
Awesome girls night out! Wine tasting and then dinner with a thank you bottle. Chef's kiss!!!
The manager, Joe, was very helpful and professional. He's an outstanding manager who cares about customer satisfaction.
My son and I had an enjoyable experience. We were able to sit outside which was nice. Miguel our server was very nice and knew the menu. He did a wonderful job.
