Good service and atmosphere, food tasted awful. No flavor at all and hard to get through. I would stick to the pizza.

Service was great! our waiter was very professional and attentive. The food was delicious too, especially the mushrooms, which tasted better than anywhere else I have tried. Our group had a very good time chatting and enjoying the cozy atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a satisfying meal and a friendly service.

I'm giving Gia Mia a 2 rating solely for giving me good service. The ambiance is fine, and my daughter and I were able to have a nice visit. But the food was a big disappointment. I ordered a Caesar salad with grilled chicken. This is the worst Caesar salad I've ever had. First of all it was made with iceberg lettuce, not romaine. Salad had very little Caesar salad dressing and was practically dry. We asked for more dressing. The chicken was overcooked and very hard to chew. So disappointing. My daughter had small lunch sized pizza nothing special about it. So for the quality of food and the price, it's a definite pass.

They have seating at the bar/along kitchen area that is first come first serve. You can watch them make the pizza from there.

This place is fine. Right in downtown downers so parking is a mess plus we came right during rush hour so trying to get across the tracks took forever. Any hoo the food was fine. I had the mushroom risotto. It's a fancier name on the menu but that's what it is. It didn't knock my socks off. I could have made it at home. I would maybe recommend the pizza. They have a big wood fired oven thats all the rage nowadays. They don't offer to split the check for you. And this is one of the only Italian places I know that doesn't bring out bread. Maybe cuz they figure you're gonna order pizza? I wouldn't hurry back.

There are a few things in life that bring me simple joys, and one of them is good food and good dining experiences.Gia Mia is a place that is a prime example of both of those under one roof. From the moment I walked in, to the moment myself and my dining companion left, it was quite enjoyable. Our server was friendly and attentive and even helped me out with making a selection of a beer off their drinks menu. The food was delicious, and they even graciously put the chili flakes that come with orecchiette+sausage on the side.My only, very minor complaint was the music. While the speakers were playing a lot of the Top 40 hits, both current and from a while back, I kept expecting a little bit of Dean Martin or Frank Sinatra to make an appearance. As cliché as that may sound, as someone who worked in broadcasting for over a decade and who has been described as an old soul by those who know me best, the golden pipes of Frank, Dean and the Rat Pack are always welcome whenever I am enjoying some good Italian cooking.Aside from that, it was terrific! I'll be returning to Gia Mia Downers Grove whenever I'm in the area.Cinque stelle meritate e meritate!

Very Nice Dining option in Downtown Downers Grove. We ordered Italian Farm Mixed Greens Salad, Eggplant Parmigiano, GF Pasta Broccolini and Tiramisu. Everything was delicious, my favorite was the Italian Farm Salad (mixed greens, soppressata, onions, peppers, olives, provolone & Balsamic dressing), perfect for the health conscious eater. The Eggplant Parmigiano was tasty and portion size was generous. Service here was better than the other locations we've visited. Restaurant was very busy for a week night, atmosphere was good, clean facilities and friendly staff. Parking can be a challenge as it is across the street from the train station. Thank You

Ate here for the first time and had an absolutely fantastic time! Shout out to our server J for giving super great service! The pizza was fantastic and the proscuitto and burrata appetizer was one of the best I’ve ever had! They also have some great gluten free options!

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Downers Grove! I met a friend here and we enjoyed the calamari, Tuscan shrimp polenta and split a balsamic chicken salad. It had been a while since we saw each other, but the server did not rush us out. I love coming here, it’s a gem!

The pizza was just ok. I would've ordered a steak salad but 4 oz of Filet wasn't going to cut it. I'd prefer, I'd prefer a little more filling salad when choosing steak.

We were 6 of us on a Saturday morning before Christmas. I was surprised to see they were open. The server was friendly with us and also polite. My friends were hungry and he was patiently assisting us with all our queries. We ordered so many items Charred cauliflower 4 stars Zucchini fries 4 stars Burrata 5/5 stars Burrata pie - probably the best one with pistachios, pesto oozing with flavor - 10/5 stars Mozzarella balls (in picture) Pepperoni pie ( I have had better) but good. No complaining Veggie pasta with chicken on the side - my wife went nuts on it Peroni beers Freshly brewed Coffee Couple of mock tails So we tried a good portion of their menu. Which was overwhelming. Its very close to the downers grove station and a busy street. So a convenient location for us. Definitely will visit here soon. Also Pun thing " we visited Gia mia with Gia" :D
