Probably the worst hot dog I've ever eaten. It had so much celery salt I thought they used stone ground mustard, but the first bite was like eating a salt lick. I couldn't taste anything except the celery salt. I tried to wipe it off, but that didn't work and after two bites I threw it away. The hot dog wasn't wrapped in paper to keep it neat in the car, apparently it's easier (for them) to stick it in a styrofoam container. The fries were soggy...
Their gyro and hotdogs are always clutch when I'm feeling some comfort Chicagoan food. They never disappoint with portion sizes. The gyro alone can be shared with two people. They fill the box with plenty of fries when I order a Chicago dog meal ($8) and this is the only place around where I can get RC or Mystic from a restaurant! Highly recommend if you're on Ogden, on the go and wanting some classic Chicago foods.
I recently started working for the Village of Downers and asked my supervisor for a good chicken salad spot. He recommended Mr. Submarine on Odgen, so I decided to try it out. When I went there around 6 p.m., the night crew was fantastic—professional, quick, and friendly. The salad was just perfect! I’ve been visiting every other day for their salads, and I honestly give the staff a five-star rating — they’re the best! I’ll be stopping by again this Friday to get another...
