Just someone fun

I used to stop in periodically and get coffee and their spinach power wrap and today when I got the power wrap, there was no spinach in it and like half the size it usually is and my total order was almost $20. Cute place and good coffee but way over priced and seems like recent changes are just focusing on revenue

Food was not good. Egg sandwiches used eggs that were premade and reheated. Bread not toasted. My husband says sausage had no flavor. Tossed the coffee. Cute inside . People nice. Way over priced for tiny sandwich’s.

Bold coffee with actual flavor ✅
Delicious flavored scone cooked just right ✅
Staff that actually gives recommendations and looks you in the face ✅✅
This place checked all the boxes. I like my coffee black and if a place doesn’t do a black coffee right, then I don’t go back. This coffee was strong, but smooth and really flavorful! And a good scone is so hard to come by, the cinnamon chip scone was delicious! Not too sweet, but good flavors. It was a little crunchy on the outside, but soft and crumbly on the inside 🤤. So glad we took a chance on this place while passing by, I would definitely return!

This is my favorite local coffee spot! Their lattes are always delicious and served hot, and their bagels are packed with flavor. I also love that this business gives back to the community by donating directly to local school district PTAs, so the money goes straight to the kids. I’ll choose this place over any big corporation every time.

Milk in latte tasted bad/ ruined. Gave this spot a try twice and was disappointed both times

Benjamin Tea, Inc.

Everything this charming place sells is top quality. From their teas and coffee to their freshly baked goods. Highly recommend in the area.

I stopped in to try out using the Too Good To Go (TGTG) app.

The counter server RESPONDED IMMEDIATELY, greeting me and gathering all four items. The store owner and staff were all very EFFICIENT, FRIENDLY, and RESPONSIVE. I was even able to chat with the owner about why they were doing the TGTG app program. She said that it was to encourage recycling, avoid waste, and SUPPORT SUSTAINABILITY FOR HER FAMILY AND THE FUTURE.

The four items include a medium ICED LATTE, a twelve-ounce super berry KOMBUCHADE, a cherry-granola YOGURT PARFAIT, and a large FRESHLY-MADE CHOCOLATE FUDGE BROWNIE. (All that for only $4.99 using TGTG!!! I also got my usual coffee au lait and a regular coffee.)

YUMMY!!! YUMMY!!! YUMMY!!! YUMMY!!!

(Updated, updated review...)

I used the TGTG app today to try different drink items and to support a local, responsible, sustainability-oriented business that supports the local community.

Again, the SERVICE and the DRINK/ITEMS WERE ALL DELICIOUS!!! The three TGTG items were a delectable Earl Grey tea with cream, a vanilla, chai-infused (overnight) oatmeal with granola sprinkles, and a scrumptious pistachio muffin. I was impressed!!! ALL THAT for only $4.99 using the TGTG app.

I ordered my usual cafe au lait and also tried the flavorful carrot-cheesecake muffin and a heavenly chocolate chip cookie.

YUMMY!!! YUMMY!!! YUMMY!!! YUMMY!!!

I can't believe I spent $18 on a half filled, melted smoothie bowl with cheap toppings and waited 15 minutes for it. I came here once before for coffee and wasn't impressed but thought I'd give it one more chance.

First time going in it’s a cute little place but it’s really really small. I got a 16 ounce coffee and I feel like I’m missing 4 ounces out of it. I opened my cup to find that a good fifth of it is missing. I got a sandwich, it tasted pretty decent, but the meat was definitely the lowest quality they could’ve gotten. The lady at the front was very friendly and the staff seemed friendly. Prices are OK a little expensive for the sandwich but overall not that bad. I’m just upset about the fact I’m missing a portion of my drink I paid for.

Love this place. Mud and Char has great coffee, super friendly people, and a vibe that makes you want to stay awhile. Their specialty drinks are fantastic, and everything tastes fresh and thoughtfully made. Downers Grove has a lot of good spots, but this one stands out. Highly recommend.

Small place but very nice team and good food options. It is on the premium end so don't expect a $3 bagel/coffee combo here.
