Overall, I really like the food. The decor is nice as well and the service is usually good.
Depending on the night, the experience could be anywhere from okay to quite nice.
My most recent visit was on a Friday night. It was relatively early for dinner but there was still a 45-minute wait for a table. We put our name on the wait list with a gentleman who I believe might have been named Mario. He was great and regularly kept us updated on the status of our wait.
Regretfully he was replaced a short time later with an older woman with glasses. She told my group we were not allowed to wait for our table near the entrance. Apparently this only applied to us though as other parties were allowed to continue to wait by the entrance. The way she went about it was very rude and we are not sure why we were singled out.
The remainder of the dinner service went well. The only issue was we were seated in the bar area where other waiting guests and bar patrons regularly bumping into us.
Pierce doesn't know how to treat their regulars like their sister restaurant in Hinsdale. I and several friends would visit weekly, mostly happy hours with light dining...unfortunately bartenders find it funny when I am the only person in DuPage County that orders bud light but it's consistently out of stock because no one drinks it.BTW, please don't laugh at me because it's not the quality beer that you drink. Give n up and movin on!

The double decker tacos and the old fashioned were amazing. The server was super pleasant and nice! The hostess was not pleasant or nice. Everyone in my party was happy with their order!

I dined by myself so I was not able to try much however I watch as everyone raved about their meals. They were absolutely incredible. I'm so happy I came here, Started of with a glass of red wine while I waited, Within about 5 minutes I had a second cup of wine and was presented a basket of bread. Oh and I I'm having apple pie for dessert....you'll have to come and try yourself.

Came here for my BDay dinner on New Year’s Day. First time I had a rather large miss by Pierce.
Buffalo Cauliflower was the best thing we had along with the burgers and Chicken Naan Dish.
The Big Mess was one Big disappointment, and I strongly do not recommend. The platter was enormous but the only thing edible upon it was the pile of truffle fries. Every slice of meat presented was WAY overcooked, tough and drier than beef jerky. I took the majority home and it went into the trash bin.
Leave the BBQ to the true smokehouse experts and simply stay true to the tavern style dishes and you are fine.

Our table of 6 were all shocked at the poor quality and taste of our entrees. We all had different dishes and could only look at each other baffled, my nachos were the worst I’ve ever had.
One bad dish can be forgiven but 6? We arrived buoyant on a sunny day and left feeling down. Would never go back to Pierces Tavern.

Had the tavern burger with gluten free bun. Massive burger with lots of fries. The egg on top was a little underdone, but still very good. The bacon on it was very flavorful too. The Smackntosh cider they carry was tart and delicious. I think it's worth the price, will have to check out some other items next time.
