The food presentation was good but the actual taste was not up to expectations. The chicken tasted really weird. The food for all eight of us did not come out at the same time. The service was bad. The restaurant was empty when we were there so there was no reason for the lady serving us to disappear after bringing the food to the table and to show up at the end. I think that they really need to do things differently to stay in business.

Absolutely love this place!! I just googled for a sushi place in Downers Grove. After browsing a few options, I narrowed it down to Wasabi. Everything was amazing. The place was packed, but not noisy and loud. I had a wait time of 30 seconds and was greater and seated immediately.
The layout is a cool design, with bar, high tops, booths, and patio. The artwork on the walls is awesome. The food is fresh and the menu has a healthy variety of selections. It was so good I ordered seconds and ate 3 rolls and an appetizer ðŸ¤.
The staff is top notch. The hostess was kind and attentive. The manager Charlie stopped by to make sure all was well. He is kind spirited and you can tell he is passionate about both his customers and his business. My server Andrea was dynamite. She is fun spirited and attentive. She made sure my orders came out correct and timely. She introduced me to delicious looking drinks and dishes as she brought them. Hope to be in her section again!
It's 5 minutes away so they just made a new regular. Keep it up, Wasabi!

This is my second time stopping in at Wasabi. Both occasions I was served delicious fresh food. But this time, our waiter Mike, made the visit much better by being an awesome server that was attentive and able to make witty food jokes. The poke nachos (pictured) were a unique menu item that had great flavor. Although the basil beef (pictured) didn't have much basil flavor to it, it was still delicious! One thing to take into consideration with the Korean beef stone bowl (pictured) is that it had a tendency to over cook some of the rice at the bottom. Which is to be expected with any stone or hot plate, but it was still a very good entree! Overall an awesome place and I look forward to visiting again!

I used Uber to get food delivered from here. But there were 2 problems.
1 : I found a short black hair in my food. My hair is long.
2 : Ordered a lobster roll, which is the most expensive roll they have on the menu and instead they gave me a shrimp tempura roll. How do I know that it's shrimp? First of all it tasted like shrimp, and second the meat was not even 1inch thick. It is literally illegal to catch lobster that small of size.

I was looking for somewhere to eat late on a Sunday with my husband and we ended up at Wasabi and loved it! The restaurant looks plain on the outside but the inside is really cute. The service was great and the food was delicious. I got a vegan bento box and there was so much food I had to bring some home. My husband loved his steak hibachi.
The worst thing is that I’m from out of town and won’t get to come back soon! Bonus points for delicious vegan options!
Vegetarian options: They even have labeled vegan options! So exciting! The vegan bento box was delicious!!!
