I have ate at Back Water a few times now both breakfast and supper..they are both great but I'd have to say that the Breakfast on the weekends are my favorite. Jami has been my waitress each time. She is the sweetest and she makes sure she gets your order right. Shane has some cooking skills....dont tell him i said that though! The biscuits and gravy are delicious!! Its been a while since I've had HOMEMADE GRAVY from a restaurant! The pancakes are bigger than the plate...

Tonight, my husband, son, and I were hungry and almost everywhere in DuQuoin was closing soon. We decided to try Backwater since it's close to home and was open. We both got a double spicy burger and our son got a grilled cheese kids meal. The server was extremely friendly, inviting, and diligent (even managed to refill our drinks without us noticing). The food came out and I'm not kidding, we were in awe. The burgers were absolutely amazing and extremely filling....

I had the loaded pull pork fries. Huge serving. I have enough to eat two days. The food was awesome. I recieved my order in a timely manner. Server was friendly .

Kid-friendliness: Very family orientated atmosphere.
