I went Sept 6th, 2025, around 8:30pm. I was hoping for the Steak and Shake experience I had as a younger adult. Not that I party like that anymore, but it was the hangout at 3 am. Anyways, the food, you have to order it on a kiosk. The food is brought out to you, then if you get a drink, you use a barcode to scan from your receipt at the fountains, to get them to work. The food is still the same as always, tasted delicious. The restaurant still had the red neon lights and it did kind feel like it used to. I'd go again, also the waiter or cook or whoever said they were bored, so our food was brought out to us. It was nice of him to do this considering they don't anymore.

Everytime im at this location im met with hostile tones and attitude.im constantly told my total before im even done ordering and then when i say sorry i wasnt done im met with sighs and attitude. I had asked for a large drink and the lady gave me a medium. No big deal ive worked in fast food. it happens.i asked to please get the correct size and the lady let out a huge sigh and shut the door put her head in her hands all upset (why?) Then told me i hadnt ordered that. it was on the receipt.

Everytime I order a sweet tea they never give me sweet tea always giving me dirt water like who goes to a restaurant and says “let me get a unsweetened tea”.?!?!?!?!?!?!

HAve to do EVERYTHING yourself. Bathrooms are disgusting (black toiltes and urinals). Neither soap dispensers worked. It is just horrible experience overall.

I honestly feel like one star is too much for this location. This location is horrible. From the food to the staff to the cleanliness (or lack there of). Place a mobile order, get in drive thru line and was told...2 more minutes, pull up and come inside. Okay, no biggie. But then to go in and wait over 20 minutes for cold food. Had to get a qr code off a dirty table for my drinks. Fries were ice cold, sandwich was cold and not made right. Dipping sauces I paid for, not included. And the staff was a mess! Dont waste your time or your money.

Sooo they've switched to where you have to order yourself. Then the machine asks if you want to tip, me personally I am not going to tip a computer that I'm having to order off of. Then the soda machine you have to scan a receipt to get the machine working. Which when I was there I had to pull one of the cooks off of the grill because not only the machine wasn't working, ordered two large drinks and there were no cups..no lids...the ice machine wouldn't work. So me personally I did not like the experience I had with them. It used to be better when we had waiters and waitresses to take our orders and serve us. I probably will not be going back unfortunately. Sorry steak n shake . I will say though that the cook that I pulled from the grill to get the cups and to help with the ice machine, he did a phenomenal job of being understanding and came to help me. So I really did appreciate that. It's not the workers that's the problem It's the setup of how they've got the store running now, it's just not a very good thing going on.

Love staying here for the East Peoria Fireworks! It's busy, but had good food and real bathtooms. They stayed open inside the whole time and despite our food being pretty late the staff was super nice and helpful!

Everything was so filthy here. I've seen gas station bathrooms in better condition than these ones. They looked as though they hadn't been cleaned/repaired in a long time. There was 1 other person in the entire restaurant (we were at group of 6 but 1 person didn't get anything) and they still managed to forget a few things from our order and it wasn't even food they had to prepare (kids chocolate milk and applesauce).

When you go here, you will see the prime example of what is wrong with this country today because the people they have hired here are like the misfits of America and they show that people have no pride anymore for what they do or how they act,,, Now this place is in a really great location on the river with one hell of a background of the river, but the people here just don’t care about you as a customer and it’s a shame, but my burger was good and my onion rings were good, but none of the drink dispensers worked Except for the sour sweet tea and I’m very very disappointed because it could be way better than this so I do not even recommend anyone going there!!!!!!
