Stopped in during a visit to Peoria, The staff was excellent and the food was delicious. Salsa was very fresh along with the chips Nothing bad to say.

I had the San Jose Burrito with Chips and Salsa.

Nice upbeat atmosphere. Waiter was friendly and the food very good. There were a couple small mistakes when we made some changes but not enough to bother us. Will definitely go back.

I recently visited Tequilas Mexican, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. The food was incredibly disappointing—everything on my plate was mushy and lacked the vibrant flavors you’d expect from a Mexican restaurant. It was clear that the quality had significantly declined. The cleanliness of the place left much to be desired. The floors were dirty, and the overall environment felt neglected. It's disheartening to see how much Tequilas Mexican has gone downhill over the past few years. This used to be a spot I enjoyed, but sadly, it’s no longer what it once was.

First off the food was awful, the salsa tasted warted down, and the queso was also watered down. Ordered the nachos via Mexico there was no cheese, it's supposed to have 3 cheeses on there. Then they tried to charge my debit card 3.9% tax to use it, which is illegal. We told the manager and he said this "I know it's illegal what are you going to do go to the police"
According to HB3128 it states:

Amends the Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act. Provides that a seller must give notice to consumers when the seller imposes surcharge on credit card transactions. Limits the surcharge to 1% of the transaction cost or the cost of processing the credit card transaction, whichever is less. Prohibits surcharges in connection with debit card transactions. Applies to in person, online, and telephone transactions.

They wanted to charge my Debit Card over 3.9% which is illegal. On top of that the wall said a 3.9% tax while the menu said 4%.
