Perfect saloon with food.
We attempted to have a relaxing birthday dinner, then the bartender offensively brought the food bill prior to us finishing our visit. Go where you feel welcome, not pushed out the door.

Six of my former co-workers and I had lunch here 9/17/2019. Most of us had hamburgers - - some also had fries. The burgers were thick, grilled just right and very tasty. They give a generous portion of fries. Our server was friendly and provided great, timely service. My check for a hamburger and water including tax (excluding tip) was $6.13. We'll be going back.
We found Ludy's on the best burgers in Illinois list and naturally had to try them. Turns out Ludy's is across the street from the Christmas ornament store that has over 120,000 ornaments, so you need to go in there too. The burgers were huge, got a generous amount of fries, and the beer was ice cold. All the tables were full and we sat at the bar, which not a concern for us. Bartender was a good guy and told us about the antique store next door that had recently opened, so we went there too. Great way to spend a Saturday afternoon. We highly recommend a trip to Kickapoo. There is also a winery in Kickapoo, if one is interested.
Ludy's is well known for its great burgers. I also enjoy the appetizers such as the Texas Toothpicks and onion rings. I have eaten here dozens of times. Fun place to go in the Summer and sit outdoors on the picnic tables. Good motorcycle destination. Nice waitresses.
Hadn’t been to Ludy’s in quite awhile and decided it was time to enjoy their great hamburgers and onion rings. Sat outside at a picnic table on a nice evening. The waitress was friendly and took our orders quickly. The food was very good, but we did get an extra order of onion rings that we didn’t order. I think there was a miscommunication with our server. Not a big deal, but keeps me from giving 5 stars. Also, be advised—they do not take credit cards. Cash only. Who knows why?

I ordered burgers and fries. It was all awesome. The burgers were much and huge. The fries were thick, they way I love them. They were salted just right. Not salty at all. Everything was perfect. I will be returning soon. This place is on the smaller side, but huge with hospitality.
It is nice to get off the beaten path and visit Ludys for a great cheeseburger at very fair prices. The place is not fancy, but it is clean and functional with great service and a good beer selection. You will be shocked when you receive the check as fair and inexpensive as the prices are. The fries are amazing also.
Burgers are great and very large. French fries and fried mushrooms are also very solid choices. The only downside is that the place is pretty small and rather noisy inside, but it is a bar so that is to be expected.
Always a stop for me when going to Peoria. The cheeseburger and fries are just outstanding and dressed with whatever you want. Excellent service too not to mention a cold drink. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
My wife and I visited Ludy's after reading about it in the local paper, and we were definitely not disappointed! We both ordered the cheeseburgers and shared a basket of fries. The burgers were both delicious and huge! The tomato slices they put in the burger were just as big and just extremely juicy. Our fries were good, but they were nothing special. Our only problem was that the basket of fries would have been enough for four people. Next time we will just order a side, and that will be enough. They aren't very quick, so don't go if you are in a rush. Also, they have a strange soda situation with some coke products available in a fountain drink and some Pepsi products available by can. I think this is just odd. I wanted Coke Zero, but they only have dirt coke. I did get the tea, and I think it had been sitting for a while. Also, I did have to send my burger back due to them putting onions on it when I had ordered it without. Overall, it was a great experience and the food was good. I will definitely be going back when I need a burger fix!
