Take a chance and try anything on the menu. I've never been disappointed. Andy is our favorite waiter and makes the best suggestions.
First, the good: Our server, Sam, was very good at his job. He was attentive and knowledgeable which my partner and I always appreciate. The food was exceptional as always and we were very satisfied until the end of the night. The bad: At the beginning of the night, our server asked about allergies. We made sure to say my fiancé is allergic to strawberries which the server noted. Later that night, they brought us a celebratory crem brulee for our anniversary that was covered in strawberries. We were disappointed but didn't make a fuss and I ate it after picking the strawberries off. Our server, realizing the error brought us a fresh brule minus the strawberries which my fiancé ate. It should be noted my fiancé's allergy activates when food is ingested, not when touched or smelled. We paid our check and then went to the car (which parking is also awful) where his throat began to close. He's fine, we responded quickly and to the level of his reaction. I called the restaurant to alert them of what happened and this is where they lost me. The complete lack of care and and intent to make this right was disgusting. The manager, Amber (?) even went as far as to imply that I caused his reaction. Mind you, after eating I didn't touch or kiss him on our anniversary because of his allergy but sure I caused this. Our guess is someone didn't change their gloves or the strawberries were added and then removed when someone noticed the error. We don't know. Either way he was bedridden the rest of the night, 4 year anniversary ruined.
Very reliable and consistent. Best steak I have had. Always prepared correctly. Will recommend to others. We can't wait to go back.

Very good all around but extremely expensive we've been twice this last time will be our last. My food was cold and when spending 389$-600$ meal is just ridiculous

We were a party of 10 with a 7:00 reservation so the kitchen should have had plenty of time to prepare our food. Most people ordered a meal, I ordered French onion soup as my meal. I and another member of our party who ordered a regular meal received our food 25 minutes after everyone else. I assume that they had already gotten rid of or put away the French onion soup because what I was served was disgusting. It was not in the soup crock, but rather a huge serving bowl, had not been broiled and had only small pieces of shredded Parmesan salad cheese on it rather than the melted Swiss that it is supposed to have. Not only was the presentation terrible the soup itself was thick and chunky. I’ve had their soup before and know what it should taste like and saw others eating it that night in the regular bowl with thevdelicious topping it is supposed to have. While I understand mistakes happen and my food was probably forgotten about, rather than serving something disgusting it would have been better to let me know and offer me something else that could still be properly prepared. In addition two people were served cold salmon. They did warm it, but heated fish is not very good. Really disappointing from a fine dining establishment.

Food was amazing, we set outside which was fun, and our waiter had a sense of humor which we loved. He had a bandaid on his finger he told us the story what happened. Then my husband told him he needs to come up with a really cool awesome story, which he did later AKA racoon attack at college. Thank you guys for an amazing evening with my husband, son and his girlfriend.

We live 45 minutes away but we were driving through and decided to eat somewhere and came across this gem. The food, atmosphere and service was superb. I only wish we lived closer, but are determined to make the drive once a month in the future.

We LOVE Chophouse!! The staff always goes above and beyond. The food is always good and we love the atmosphere.
My husband and I live in Carbondale and ate at 1818 last night for a date night as we are cleaning out his parents old house they will be selling soon. 1818 Chophouse is absolutely a 5 star restaurant and everything we tried was amazing! 1818 is by far my favorite restaurant that I have dined in to date and I have traveled throughout the states and eaten at many places. I would say 1818 Chophouse is a restaurant that matches up with the style and quality of my own business, Bender Mixology Services and I would absolutely love to work with this restaurant to incorporate my expertise on their cocktail menu and craft the best beverage menu of all time!

Cool place but absolutely infuriating steaks! They sear the absolute crap out of their steaks and don't give you any choice or warning.... I'm a medium rare-rare guy and I hate eat overcooked or charred meat and this place charges top dollar and then blackens the hell out of your $50 steak! I can cook myself 4 ribeyes at home the way I want them for the same price as a sirloin at this place....

Me and my wife went for the third time and the quality of the meat has went down the hill I could have got the same quality from a pub or side road shack the service was good but the food quality was not what I was looking for at all !!!!!! And not for a 130.00 bill plus the 25.00 tip the tip was about what the meal should have cost
