My wife and I dined at 1818 on our stop in Edwardsville for the night. Though the decor and lighting don’t scream high-end steak, we were happily surprised with on of the best steaks we’ve had. We travel a lot in the US and abroad and have a pretty discerning palate for a great ribeye. The Delmonico steak at 1818 can stand up to any steak anywhere. The service from Andy and the team was phenomenal, and the bourbon list was top notch. Overall a great experience and meal and will make our way back whenever we’re in town.

It is our 3rd wedding anniversary and we told them that when we made the reservation. So why in the world would you set us next to a table of 12.ppl with 5 little kids. And when we asked to b moved u said well we have another large party coming in. This place is trying too hard to be upscale, but they are far from it. We just walked out because after being moved (2 tables over), we were being ignored. We will never be back. It's definitely not a place for a romantic dinner. No difference than a chain stakehouse. For the price, it's NOT worth it. Hard pass

We were a party of 4 there to have dinner. They seated us in the bar at 5:00 p.m. they weren't seating anyone in the restaurant area. We were at a high top in an extremely loud crowded area. We could not have a conversation. Our server was pleasant, but he could not remember to come take our drink order, our food order, could not remember to bring drinks over after they were ordered, basically he was extremely scattered. We thought it was because he was busy at first, but when the area calmed down and he had very few tables, the service did not improve at all. He never told us about any of the specials or promotions. When I asked how we were supposed to know about specials, he said he was supposed to tell us, but he forgot to do so. It was rather frustrating. I think with a good server and being seated in the actual dining room, this would be a very nice place to eat as the food is quite good.

The Thursday special for September is lobster rolls and they are all amazing. My usual is the shrimp tacos, stuffed dates and the peanut butter towers. The lobster is awesome and I'll miss it.

This place is amazing! The steak was cooked perfectly and the mashed potatoes may be some of the best I've ever had. Apps were also delicious (deviled eggs and bacon wrapped dates). Extensive wine list has something for everyone.

Wonderful experience. Wednesday is flights and bites. Four 2 Oz glasses of wine paired with 4 different foods. 15 dollars a person. Great bargain. Great menu and wine list. Nice atmosphere. Been here 5 times now. Will continue to come back.
