Ordered delivery and my delivery person's car broke down after they picked it up. No problem, I just canceled and reordered the same order. The restaurant refused to remake it even though it was the same order they just put out and told my delivery person I needed to cancel it and reorder it again, for a second tome reordering. My delivery person was amazing and handled the situation so I received a full refund however I didn't get my food and will not risk ordering from here again. Unfortunate, because I do enjoy their food when I do actually get it

They gave us soggy food that was from lunch time and we went in at dinner time was not very good at all. The employee at the window was in a hurry even though there was no line he was rushing us to order. When your ordering for a family of 4 it takes a few mins to figure out what to get for everyone. Please have more patience and give ppl time .

I really wanted to love this place because the food is honestly amazing. Every bite was flavorful, well-seasoned. If I were rating based on food alone, this place would easily get a 5-star rating. But sadly, the overall experience was far from enjoyable.
The first thing that hit me as I walked in was the strong, unpleasant smell almost like something was rotting or the place hadn’t been properly cleaned in a while. It was honestly hard to ignore, and it ruined the vibe before I even sat down. I tried to overlook it, thinking the food might make up for it—and thankfully, it kind of did—but not enough to make me want to return anytime soon.

The real deal-breaker, though, was the washroom. It was absolutely disastrous

filthy floors, no soap, a broken door lock, and a stench that made me gag. It looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in days. For a place that serves such good food, this lack of basic hygiene is unacceptable and really disappointing.

I hope the management takes these issues seriously, because no matter how good the food is, people expect cleanliness and a comfortable atmosphere when dining out. Right now, this place falls short in that department.

Let's start with the first thing. Pulled into the drive thru and the back door is wide open and unmanned. Not only is this against food safety as it lets pests and flies in, it is also an absolute safety risk as anyone could walk in. Then instead of warning people they are out of stuff they wait and hope you don't order that item. Not impressed.

This Captain D’s location is a rip off! First of all, I ordered the “new” garlic shrimp. I was told that they ran out. Really, at dinner time on a Friday evening? I ordered 2 of the fish, shrimp, and fries dinners and 2 large drinks. Over 22.00. Drinks are about 3.25 each. I was given one set of utensils for 2 dinners. It didn’t really matter because there wasn’t much to eat anyway. What a sad looking meal. The piece of fish was long and skinny and mostly crunchy batter. The shrimp were so tiny and there were 5 of them. I counted 18 fries and 2 hush puppies. The food was very good but, come on, do better. Stop charging high prices for a small amount of food. The cashier at the window was not friendly and put out when I requested dipping sauce. If you enjoy eating at Captain D’s, I would suggest finding another location other than Edwardsville, IL.
