🚨 EXTREME WARNING ABOUT EXO NAIL BAR (Edwardsville, IL) 🚨
I am posting this so NO ONE else wastes their time, money, or energy the way I did.
I traveled a long distance specifically to give this salon a chance, expecting a professional experience. What I walked into was hands-down one of the most disorganized, dismissive, and unprofessional environments I have ever dealt with in any service industry.
I scheduled for acrylic removal + builder gel—clear, simple, confirmed.
But from the moment I arrived, it was obvious they weren’t prepared. I was pushed between FOUR different techs, each one looking more confused than the last. Not one seemed capable or confident in the very service I booked.
By the fourth tech, the attitude was unreal. His energy said loud and clear that he didn’t want to be bothered. When I tried to switch to regular gel just to salvage the appointment, he didn’t communicate—he walked off, said something to someone else, and suddenly I’m being told he refused to continue.
At this point, I had been sitting in this place for FOUR HOURS—with NOTHING done.
And remember:
I had a flight the next morning.
A major business meeting.
A tight schedule.
All completely thrown off because of this chaos.
But the worst part?
The front desk behavior. Absolutely unbelievable. Instead of listening or helping, she raised her voice, talked over me, and escalated everything. I’ve never seen anything like it in a business that relies on customer service.
The whole experience felt like stepping into a dramatic reality TV meltdown instead of a nail appointment. The disrespect, the confusion, the lack of professionalism—it was on a different level.
💥 My personal experience here was beyond unacceptable. I would strongly urge anyone thinking about coming here to think twice. If you expect respect, organization, or even the bare minimum of professionalism, this is NOT the place.
This was a complete waste of time, energy, and patience—and I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone.

Love this place.. we have had our nails done twice and the nail techs are very friendly and the atmosphere is good too.. they have everything from food and drinks to nails and pedicures.. if you haven’t been you should check them out.

Love this place! I’ve been going consistently since they reopened and I can’t think of a single reason not to go here. Mani and pedis are always perfectly done and last forever. I’ve had multiple surgeries on my ankles and they are always understanding and caring about that. The service is just fantastic. The drinks are delicious too!

This place deserves zero stars. They regularly delete bad reviews. Don’t waste your money there. My review got 10,000+ views before they deleted it. The place looks nice but the service is TERRIBLE. Very cliquey and snooty. Dude had to do my nails twice because I asked for gel and he used powdered acrylic that wouldn’t cure… the pictures speak for themselves. Terrible. Had to go home and file them myself & there was goo all over.

Staff was friendly and services seemed nice but my gel manicure is already chipping when it was just done on Friday morning.… it has barely lasted the weekend. I will not be returning.
I had a wonderful time at Exo Lounge! Taylor is awesome and had great customer service, the drinks were delicious. I love the vibe and will be returning soon!

Appointment at 2:00. Left at 3:00 when they still hadn't even started my manicure. Receptionist wasn't very polite and fed me a line about being short staffed and everyone having to wait. Didn't even apologize. Will not be back.

AMAZING place to go!! Brought my grandma here and awesome service. We got our nails done and had amazing nail techs named Wee and Jason and an amazing woman that took care of everything for us and made it an excellent time named Kristy! I will definitely be back for the lounge and the nail bar! Kristy explained all the great nights they have at the lounge like college night!! ABSOLUTELY AMAZING service!!!:)
