My family and I went last night to celebrate my mother-in-law’s birthday. She really wanted to go here for her birthday dinner. Our server was good. I forget the young lady’s name. However, the wait for food and the final presentation was HORRIBLE! My father-in-law got the cod meal and like one of the other reviewers stated. You get more food at Culver’s for much less. His meal was the size of a toddlers. I had the shrimp and grits. It was HORRIBLE. I had to ask for my honey corn muffin that came with the meal. But was told they didn’t have any. One of our group members had their order taken by our server but was later told when all the other food came out that the cook never dropped hers. So she didn’t couldn’t get anything because they shut down the kitchen. Oh and the cook. We only saw one person. He did what he could. However, it wasn’t that busy on a Wednesday but everyone who came in after us seemed to get their food before ours. We were not a super large party - 8 adults and two toddlers. To the owner, Your food is too expensive to be this bad. I see why you’re only open limited hours. Just shut down and try again! If you’re reading this go somewhere else where you get more food for less money.

My wife and I have eaten at the Edwardsville location several times, and it was always excellent! However, our visit Friday evening was very disappointing. Even considering the recent overall rise in prices everywhere, this was ridiculously overpriced. Tiny portions of the main item, fried cod, and the sides, garlic mashed potatoes and red beans and rice, were disappointing. The cod had decent flavor, but the potatoes and beans were flavorless, in addition to being very small portions. Red beans and rice mixes from the grocery store are many times better than this. The codfish dinner at CULVERS is much better than this dinner was, much less expensive, and you actually get a full meal. Our waitress was excellent, engaging and friendly, she was excellent!

We've been to this restuarant several times when having dinner with friends. The food used to be excellent but not anymore. My crab cakes were overcooked, the proportions of fish were extremely small, the mashed potatoes were just OK. We spent a bit under $100 and didn't feel like the meal was worth that price. Our visit was on a Thursday evening and it was not very crowded. On a happy note, our waitress was EXCELLENT! Very attentive, great interaction with our table. If we choose Gulf Shores in the future it will be at the Creve Coeur location.

Love gulf shores! Went tonight to the St. Peter’s location and had a yummy dinner. The host was a young man and did a great job and our waitress was lovely and on top of it! Two elderly women came in a the younger of the two was extremely rude and entitled to the host (the young man). Rudely demanding a different table each time he tried to seat them. I just wanted to point out how well he handled it and that he stayed professional and kept a smile on his face the whole time. He deserves kudos. I told her on the way out to tone down her entitlement and not to be so rude to staff and she spiraled. Not shocking. I’m not a fan of treating those in the service industry rudely. Again he handled it very well. Good job to him!
I got the Lobster roll w/redbeans&rice, and coleslaw. Very satisfied with the service!

My wife and some friends went to this amazing establishment Saturday evening. The owner, Harry, made it a point to come out from the kitchen area to explain some special sauces and seasons and ways he has his staff prepare the Grouper we ordered. The food was unbelievably, service was fantastic as well. In today's day and age to have the owner of not just this establishment, but 2 others, make it a point to spend almost 20 minutes with us alone was so inviting and refreshing. Best Wishes to Harry and his family on hopefully his 4th restaurant coming soon 🙏

I know people that have worked for this restaurant. Food is good but they treat employees like crap. Claim to be a family restaurant but the only family they care about is their own
Food was so 🗑️ service was bad everything was just terrible don’t recommend

Honestly the WORST restaurant I have been to in a while!! The staff was not friendly what so ever, had a small problem on my bill and it was escalated to a level that was not needed whatsoever. The owner was rude and entitled “I own three businesses I know what I am doing”…The food was highway robbery for the garbage they served, and the service? Let's just say COVID didn't kill customer service; this place did!!

My husband and I loved eating here until our last visit. The menu had fewer items than before. The fish and shrimp that I ordered had breading that was thick and fried extremely hard. I had to use my knife to actually break through the breading and just ate the fish. The shrimp had the same thick hard breading and very little flavor. It was a Thursday evening and not crowded which was a departure from our previous visits. I have talked to friends that agreed that the food is not as good here as it was in the past and it seems that more attention is focused on the restaurant in St Louis. Very disappointing.

This eatery came very highly recommended. However the food didn't live up to the hype. My gator bites were tough, stringy and a bit dry. Likewise gumbo had chicken and andoulle sausage that were tough, stringy and chewy.
Otherwise the experience was quite delightful. The place was clean, parking was plentiful and the wait staff was professional, pleasant and well informed.
I would go back if I am in the area, but order different entrees.

The jambalaya was so very good with a bit of spicy kick. It was my first visit. My friend thought it a bit pricey..but we agreed we would go again and try other dishes. The fried flounder, with coleslaw and french fries was plenty with a cup of jambalaya. And we enjoyed the corn bread accompaniment. If you like #cajunfood and live in or near #edwardsville, stop by and be hungry.
