This place was a cool little find on my way to St. Louis. I like the atmosphere, decor and the beer is pretty good. Definitely worth the stop on a road trip. Recess would be a place I would frequent often if I lived somewhere nearby. It would be my little recess every now and then if you will. ?

I've had my sights on this brewery for years and am thankful that my journey finally got me in the door tonight! Patrick is a stellar bartender and I LOVED your brews! The brews paired with his old fashioned left me swooning at the bar and the trivia night was a blast! I will be counting down the time until my next visit and urge anyone who loves a serene vibe to swing into Recess Brewing ✌️

Couldn’t stay. Sat at the bar for 5-10 minutes. Wasn’t acknowledged by the sole bartender who was scream-singing along with the ridiculously loud country music to the seeming amusement of the two three people he was focused on at the bar. Been here a ton, usually enjoy the bar and the beers, but: a) you need to at least acknowledge the existence of the people sitting at your bar within a couple minutes, even if you’re busy (there were ten total people in the place, so I wouldn’t call it busy). A hello, glad to see ya, I’ll be with you asap, is plenty; b) turn the music down a hair, particularly if you’re going to be playing the most over the top country music imaginable that isn’t going to appeal to everyone; and c) don’t yell/sing along with the entire song while you’re pouring everyone’s drinks. This isn’t a karaoke bar. I don’t care that you know the words to this terrible song. And maybe if you spend a little less time leaning into your nightclub act, you could fill a few more glasses a bit faster and I wouldn’t be down the street giving someone else my money….

Wide selection of high quality brews for all preferences. Chill, and cozy atmosphere and the absolutely best food truck in the St. Louis area. The burger and tots are mouth watering and the pretzel out of this world. Very high quality service, and will definitely be back.

The beer is always great and the staff is always friendly. One of our favorite spots for live music and we love that our dog is always welcome, too. The revamped patio in the back adds some additional shade and looks really great. It’s even better when a food truck is posted up in the back!

While we were visiting from out of town, we came across Recess Brewing. Very nice facility and friendly staff. Wide selection of styles, including sours and seltzers, executed well in most cases. Definitely worth a visit!

The map to get there is tricky, gps got all messed up in construction. It is loud, most breweries are - high ceilings. Sort of friendly, almost felt like maybe we were too old to be there? Band warming up (band of 2) they were friendlier. I enjoyed the copper smash.
