Had the absolute worst experience ever at this restaurant on Feb. 25, 2023. I would give it zero stars if possible. The server was sharp with us from the time we walked in. My miso soup was lukewarm at best and the tofu was cold in the center. There was no effort made to warm the soup and she explained that it was odd the soup was not hot because it was in the warmer and she explained that the tofu is kept in the fridge, so it could be cold. She never offered an apology or to warm it more or make it right. After 45 min. wait at our table we got our edamame which was hot and good. After 1.5 hours patiently waiting at our table, still no dinner. We asked nicely about our food for the first time, the waitress said it was a full restaurant and they were short-handed, again no apologies or effort to make things better. We were VERY hungry. It was now 8pm and she couldn't tell us how much longer it would be so we paid for our appetizer and left. Since this was our first impression, we will NOT be back and I would NOT recommend this place to anyone.

Brought a buddy here who was visiting from Japan. Everyone loved it. Food took a while but we also ordered a lot of very different stuff. Totally worth the wait!

It was meh back when it was Nori sushi... now it might have gotten worse. I suppose if youre a college student and likes rolls, the Monday/Tues AYCE option might still be OK. Their sushi delux was just sad. It included crab sticks and egg. They also forgot to enter one of the rolls that we wanted. $82 for 2 people... and bad sushi. Never coming back.

The absolute best restaurant in town. Great atmosphere for date night or a casual brunch. The staff are always friendly. They serve nothing but the freshest sushi around. Great spot to add to your list.-Dj

In comparison to the competition in the area, this place was truthfully disappointing. The food wasn't anything noteworthy for the price, and the fried rice really just tasted bad in general so that was surprising. The appetizers were decent comparatively. We didn't get the sushi, so that could be their real focus and I suspect that's the case. At any rate, I think there are better options. Your mileage may vary.

Fair. Ordered takeout, Kyoto much better. Ordered extra ginger, very little. Usually have left over wasabi, hardly any. First time ever to run out of wasabi. Dumplings were good.

Food is great but long wait - need more cooks in the kitchen but that's a problem everywhere now.

We frequent this simple small restaurant in a busy zone in Edwardsville. Haven't disappointed us yet. Plenty of options for mostly anyone.

First time here on 10/17, and definitely will return. Great selection of rolls and other items. Went there specifically for sushi, so I didn’t look at the full menu. Picture is after I started eating- good portion sizes.

Wait staff is excellent and they offer an all you can eat option on Mondays and Tuesdays. The all you can eat price is really good and the rest of the menu is decently priced. However, the kitchen is absurdly slow regardless of how busy it is. I'm not sure why, but if they speed up a 4/5 or 5/5 is definitely on the table.

Not the same owners that owned nori Japanese grill and sushi a total waste of time will not go back used to love it when it was nori. I bought $80 worth of sushi rolls and nobody was happy with them at all before him everybody loved him got the wrong people running the restaurant.

Simply stated: this is the best sushi you'll find in the area. They aren't the fastest, but you're eating art here, and you can't hurry love. Prepare to spend a little time, order some (fantastic) gyoza, have a couple Sapporos, and enjoy some of the best sushi in the Midwest.
