I arrived at 1:45 PM on a Thursday. The neon open sign is lit and the hours indicate it should be open, but the door is locked. If you're going to close early, at least turn the sign off.

NO. NO. NO. NO. NOThe owner was so sick and phlegmy I was getting ill just listening to her talk. Nose running and almost choking on herself. Think of the spa alien from Rick and Morty. The place smells and is dirty. It's empty for a reason. I was going to give them a chance and ordered a red curry with shrimp. I could hear hacking cough and snorting snot from the kitchen. The dish came out in less than 5 minutes. I heard nothing being cooked. Only a microwave door and beeps a couple times. I was about to walk out but the food came out so fast. I'm not even taking the chance on it. No way in hell. The worst part is I asked her if she was sick and she LIED saying she'd just eaten some spicy noodles. There's no hint of food being cooked in that restaurant any time recently.

Lovely little place. We had dinner and there were only 2 other people dining in. The owner mentioned we were the first customers of the day! The food tasted like a home cooked meal. The owner was happy to explain dishes to us and offer suggestions. Everything was cooked to order and came to the table as it was ready. Truly felt like a home.Parking: Plenty of parking spacesKid-friendliness: Toys available for kids, open to letting kids share adult mealsWheelchair accessibility: Ramp leading to entrance, tables with wheelchair access

There were ups and downs. The woman running the place was incredibly kind. She made our food and was also our server. We were the only ones inside. The prices on the menu seemed reasonable. I will say, I got a smaller portion size than I am used to with Thai restaurants but I looked past it. The food was good. As it was being cooked, I heard a microwave beeping for the majority of the time she was back there. I will say, many restaurants use microwaves here and there, but it seemed to be getting a lot of use. However I did hear something cooking and sizzling so I know something was cooked fresh, and everything was hot and tasted good. Then we got the bill. Kind of. There was no actual bill and we forgot to get the receipt. But instead of the $30 or so we had estimated for an order of beef fried rice, an order of pad thai, two egg rolls and two thai iced teas, we received a $61.95 bill. She made up the prices. They were not the same as on the menu, and it was not just a few dollars difference. You are also given a water bottle that seems complimentary, but is not. Even if you don’t drink the water, you are charged for it. The pricing isn’t honest, and it seems like she just charges what she feels like. We enjoyed our food quite a bit, but the pricing brought things down by a lot.

I was the only one in the place at the time of pickup and had to have been one of the few orders of the night based on how delighted lady behind the counter was to see me. She thanked me several times for ordering from her. I could tell she cooked my order fresh!Cashew chicken and potstickers are excellent! It’s a little pricey for the amount of food I received. $25 total when listed at $11 and $5 online, unless prices have changed.

Authentic Thai food deliciously prepared. The owner was very helpful in making suggestions and selecting the spiciness of our meal. Had crab dumplings as appetizer and my husband and I shared the drunken noodles and ginger chicken on rice. All was perfectly seasoned with lots of fresh vegetables. Highly recommend!

We came for pho, and it was very good. The owner was very friendly, and took good care of us. English is not her first language, but she understands it very well.

I used to love this place. The prices are very high and we ran into a very disappointing meal here. They attempted to take care of the issue but not to my satisfaction. I don’t want to go to deeply into the issue but they could use more visits from pest control and a health inspector.

Dangggg this was tasty. Had the Jungle Curry. A little different curry in that the broth was not as thick as I normally have from other restaurants, neither a good or bad thing but just different. It was really tasty though and if you're passing through or live in the area I would highly recommend this place. Really a pleasant place and it's byob too.

I’m so glad that the owner came back to Effingham! The food is delicious, there’s something for every diet, there’s a dried pepper basket at each table, and the proprietor is sharp as a tack. She knows just when to appear, she’s never over bearing, she’s quick with a joke, and her honesty is refreshing. The decor could use an update, but it’s pleasant. Just stuffy.Vegetarian options: There is an extensive vegetarian menu, and also she will point out offerings that can be ordered vegetarian.

Authentic Thai home cooking by someone who knows how to make the food from Bangkok. With the low volume of small town dining scene for this type of food, some ingredients have to start frozen like sliced meats, seafood, broth or stew sauces. When she cooks, she has to defrost those individual serving of meats and dehydrate ingredients like noodles and mushrooms with the microwave so she can quickly to begin cooking with the fresh ingredients like vegetables, spices, and herbs in her wok or pots. The result is good fresh food prepared safely. So I think the reviews assumed incorrectly that the kitchen reheats old food for service.
