Prime rib sandwich had tender beef, flavorful. Eggplant soup was thick, smooth, very curry forward, no hint of coconut milk flavor; cream and sriracha on top made the bowl, but this isn't a dish I'd have again. The fried green tomatoes were served in a very different way than I'd had here before. $20 seemed like a lot to charge until I saw the huge portion of crispy tasty slabs blanketed in creamy corn—yummy!

I have seen the sign for this restaurant for years as I drive to Chicago from Nashville. I have always wanted to stop. We made a special trip and let me say it was worth it! The food was absolutely delicious and the ambiance and service were top-notch!

I have been before, alone, on work trips. I've talked about Firefly so much my wife was like "let's go" so we drove 4.5 hours for friend green tomatoes! Made a road trip of it from Ohio! I was so excited when we arrived in Effingham and I could see the restaurant from our hotel!!! Never disappointed!

Very good place to eat. Service was very good. Food was good but very expensive. I had pork steak and sauce was salty. Brussel sprouts were overcooked. We were told that we would be credited for the Brussel sprouts but we weren't.

Had a wonderful dining experience to celebrate my husband's birthday. The sea bass was wonderful but the best meal on the menu is the short ribs. Service was also wonderful, I only have it 4 stars because when my friend complained that the brownie was not warm, the waitress touched the brownie with her hand to check😳. I highly recommend the restaurant. Beautiful ambience

We try to make it to Firefly (from Champaign IL) 2 to 3 times a year. This was our second visit in 2025 (for my spouse's b-day). A great experience from start to finish. Fried green tomatoes! Been missing those -- no one does them like Firefly. And the bread service -- bavarian pretzel w/ beer cheese was fantastic. We split the Ahi -- which was a super large portion and done to perfection (rare, that is!). And we managed to save room for a crazy good dessert! Thanks, Firefly!

Excellent drinks, food and service.martini's, seared Canadian salmon, caramelized onion ravioli, local peas and carrots; topped with pea tendrils. Some of the best prepared food we have had.

I ordered the prime rib and asked that it be cooked medium rare, when it was served and saw that it was what I would call medium. I told the waitress and she told me that they cook all if the prime rib to the same doneness. I told her that I would of ordered a steak it she would of told me that I couldn't get medium rare. She kind of gave me an on well and that was the end of it. She never offered to make it right. Then I got the bill she charged me full price and they added a 5% service charge to the bottom line. I walked out and will never go back. Over priced for the quality of the food.

I have been seeing the signs for Firefly Grill for decades when I drive from my home in St. Louis to my parents' home in Champaign. So when my husband and I and my sister, brother-in-law and niece and nephew had an occasion to be near Effingham on Father's day, it was the obvious choice for a place to meet up and have a meal. We were pleasantly surprised at how beautifully situated the restaurant is on the grounds. We were also very impressed by all of the plants and food they grow on site. All six of us ordered a different entree from the brunch menu and everyone loved what they received. We sat on the porch near the pond and it was lovely. Our server was top notch, the restrooms were clean, and as we had a reservation, our table was waiting for us upon arrival. 5 stars, zero complaints.

Loved this place. Our food was delicious, and the wine was amazing too. We really enjoyed our lunch there and will definitely be back.

We had a beautiful meal and friendly, helpful service. This is our favorite restaurant in East Central Illinois.

We had eaten here one other time and we planned our trip to Texas through Effingham to eat there again! It is a lovely place with geese, gardens and a pond with fish. The waitress was great, but the food was all way over "sauced." The salad was drenched with dressing and the Brussel Sprouts were swimming in sauce. On the plus side, they do not cook with seed oils!! The Cream Brulee was delicious!

What a delightful restaurant! We were driving thru Effingham on our way home to KC. This restaurant rivals anything KC has to offer!! We stop here every time we drive to the east coast to visit family. It is the Bomb!!!
