Great place to get good food at a fair price.
Gabby Goat is a true pub style place in Effingham, which sounds like a made up town name from a Shrek movie.
We are not from Effingham, just passing through on the way to Indianapolis, using AI to find a solid casual spot for dinner. Based on high ratings we decided on Gabby Goat. Driving through downtown there are a lot of boarded up vacant buildings. It looks safe but the town has definitely seen better times.
The original Gabby Goat building up front is also closed, but the new one behind it is very much alive. There were numerous cars in the parking lot with out of town license plates always a good sign.
The beer menu is extensive and the food menu interesting. Many local and international craft beer options. Our food was delivered at proper temperature and well prepared. The service was prompt and efficient.
Definitely worth a trip downtown if you're in the area.

Very diverse menu. Great experience!
8 of us arrived for a bday celebration. They were very quick to see us seated. Our server Dillon was on top of things from the start. All food was excellent. Everything from catfish nuggets, wings, and fish tacos were great. Only drawback was there is not kids menu but sides and appetizers did the job. 1st time in new building and I am sure that we will return.
Very nice clean restaurant. The staff is very friendly and great food!!

Stopped for dinner on our way through the area. Very cute place with fantastic food. My wife has celiac and a potato allergy and was thrilled to have so many options. Our son is a chatterbox and our server, Brittany did a fantastic job getting all her tables taken care of while making him feel special.

The menu is simple, but the food is delicious. Great choice of appetizers, sandwiches, and salads. The service is always top notch and there is plenty of parking. Just a great place to take the family and not break the bank!

Wings were pretty good, and so were the fries. But I ordered a Buffalo chicken wrap, and that was terrible. I asked the waiter if this is usually how it comes and if it was even buffalo sauce (it didn’t taste like buffalo sauce) and he kind of ignored me the first time. He offered to bring me more sauce, but it tasted so bad I didn’t even want to eat it. Then I asked again if this is normal and he said no. Still charged me full price for it though. I’ve heard good things about this place too but that was disappointing to say the least.
