This restaurant rivals any 5 star restaurant in big cities. Absolutely delicious food, wonderful presentation, and such reasonable prices. You definitely need to try this if ever in Effingham.

Excellent food, fast service. We were driving through to Indianapolis and found this gem. They even filled up our yeti cups to go with lots of ice. We passed on the $10 for 2 margaritas deal, but they looked great, and other people were complementing them.

TUESDAY FOOD REVIEW...THE LOCAL...6/24/25! On our way to our hotel, we stopped at The Local, located at 1313 N. Keller Dr., in Effingham, IL, for dinner. We split their Rock Shrimp Tacos, which are 3 flour tacos filled with tempura shrimp, red cabbage, lettuce, chipolte aioli, and honey chili honey. We also split a side of asparagus. These tacos were creatively made, as all of the flavors blended together to create a very unique twist on a shrimp taco, that was BEYOND YUMMY!!! The asparagus was seasoned perfectly and were ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!!! This small restaurant packs a huge punch with their food, is a NOT TO BE MISSED place to eat!!!! My rating: 10++++

Such a cute little place. We stayed at the Hampton Inn right next door. Decided to walk on over. And fell in love. Service was great, workers are so kind and polite. Worth stopping in!!! Even for a drink

Pedro is fabulous 😊 he planned out all of the best ways to make our food a notch above!!!!! Our meal was perfect also. Turtle cheesecake with Carmel drizzle and strawberries!!!
You really can't go wrong here! Viridiana was really great!! The Carne Asada fries were an awesome appetizer. We also enjoyed the Philly Cheese Steak & Mushroom Swiss Burger. Had to have the Turtle Cheesecake to go!!
We had some fabulous food. We enjoyed the loaded potato skins, chicken buffalo wrap (added bacon and sauce on side) & rock shrimp tacos. Masey was wonderful. We are so glad we have added this restaurant to our favorites!

We have visited this restaurant a few times and have never been disappointed. My husband claims they have the best salmon around, and I really enjoy the rock shrimp dish. Get the sauces on the side if you can’t handle a little spice!👍🏻
