Great service, delicious food
Something has changed. What use to be the best pizza in Effingham is no longer.

I was a walk-in on Thursday, August 8th. The place was filling up as I waited for my pizza. I waited 30 minutes. I’m from Effingham but moved away in 1990. I used to work there through lunch in the late 80’s. I worked for a woman named Sherry, great boss.
The pizza was disappointing, one edge (nearly 3 slices were missing) when I got to my destination and opened it. It was dry and toppings were 1” away from the outside, all the way around. Not like I’ve had. The sauce was bland.
I took a salad to go as well and the salad bar was good as always. A lot of toppings and kept full. I’ll be back, but hope it’s better next time. My kids always pick up a pizza from here whenever they come to town also, it’s a “must have”.

I'm from Chicago and this pizza ain't it.
Took a gamble because Joe's wasn't open for lunch, and I gotta say it is not worth $25 for a passable, but not great, 14" pie with 2 toppings and 6 very disappointing wings
Dough too thick, sauce is lacking depth of flavor, and their wings appear to be from the same supplier you get when you order from any given fast food chain, so it's not surprising that they're small, flavorless, and soggy.
I get the impression that little to nothing is prepared on-site here, and there is a LOT of canned sauce and frozen dough being used. They don't even make their own ranch or blue cheese which is honestly the bare minimum. Shameful and lazy for anyone who takes pride in their work

I've been going to pizza man for a min lol by that I mean years and this time honestly the food wasn't impressive the service that is provided was meh and it mostly seemed like the atmosphere was based off riding the coat tails of the past greatness. Was there during diner rush this time so maybe that was issue.
Parking: Parking is plenty but a little side ways.
Kid-friendliness: Great place for kids everyone was well mannered
Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp at front door and front door parking

The salad bar is very similar to what used to be at the Pizza Man of Salem. The service was friendly and very, very quick. Great food, fast!

First, this review is written by someone that lives in a city that has a family owned pizza place on nearly every couple of blocks of a main street. The pizza was good. I really liked the sauce, the flavor was spot on. The sausage had a very good flavor, though there was a limited amount of sausage on the pizza. There was a little too much cheese for my taste. Where the pizza dropped off was the crust. I think it has potential, but I don't get the foil on the bottom of the box, I think it holds the moisture against the bottom of the crust.I also had garlic bread and it was pretty good. The people there were super friendly and had the order done very quickly. I love the the quality of the customer service.

This place is like an Effingham institution it is a mom and pop it's been around for a very very long time and it's still the same it's the only place in town where you can get a personal Pizza salad bar and a drink for $11 and it is the best pizza in town I don't care what anybody says and you can fight me on it
Vegetarian options: There are pizza crust is vegan for sure and you can get all kinds of vegan options on your pizza and their salad bar has definite vegan options on it as well
Kid-friendliness: It's a mom and pop so all kids are welcome
