It was ok. This is located in the old Dairy Queen in El Paso. They've done a very nice job in renovating the space to make it feel like a local hometown restaurant - Ie: it's -not- just an old Dairy Queen with a paint job. When we were there, several menu items were out of stock due to a "food truck delivery issue". The menu is most pub-type items -- burgers, fries, wings (these were out of stock), various fried appetizers and sides, several sandwiches options, and also a few salad options. It wasn't overly busy when we were there for lunch, but the service seemed slow -- more than expected delay to get drinks and refills (soft drinks) and food. We ordered an appetizer (fried chees curds), but they ended up being -mostly- one big clumps of cheese of 3-5 curds each clump. The kitchen definitely needs to work on mastering the concept of frying curds so they aren't just all clumped together. As far as main dishes, for a group of 4, our food didn't all come out at the same time. The food (2 burgers and 2 hot sandwiches) all came out at different times (with the last sandwich coming out approx 8 min or so after the first 2 trays were delivered). The taste was ok, nothing special and serving size was average for the somewhat above-average prices (in my opinion). Tables weren't stocked well -- our table didn't have any silverware or salt/pepper, the ketchup was out and when we took a bottle from a nearby table, it was also nearly empty, so some lack of attention to the tables after someone leaves. When the table is being cleaned, I would think it would be somewhat customary to check to make sure everything is stocked in the "table basket". I would have liked a knife to cut my sandwich, but didn't want to ask because I thought it might take too long to actually get a knife given the somewhat slow service. Anyway, our experience was just ok -- nothing special. For 2 sandwiches, 1 soft drink, and 1 appetizer, the cost (without tip) was a little over $50. Based on the reviews, we had pretty high hopes. I would say, in the end, the experience here was less than what we had hoped for or expected.

Genuinely nice people over here. The burger was worth the 45 minute drive. Can’t wait to stop in again.

Excellent food, drunks and service. A very clean, modern interior, with patrons of all ages. We live 35 miles away but we'll be back!

Stopped through! Bartender recommended a saracha and something else blend for wings at they were perfect! Blue berry ale with lemon ring was amazing! Great conversation, clean, friendly.

The food and service were great! The beer taps were not working. The music was way too loud for lunch time.

There was zero craft beer available the day I went, had only basic awful domestics in cans. For a place that advertised as having craft beer, I left disappointed for making a 20 mile drive.

They had a very kind bartender. They also had multiple options of ipa beers and the vibe was very chill. Would recommend to new people.

We absolutely love The Local Tap! We went here for the first time on a Friday evening, and while it was busy, the service was great and the food was hot and fresh. The cheese curds were some of the best I've ever had, definitely a must try. We enjoyed our meal so much that we went back the next day at noon for lunch. Great local spot!

My wife and I ate at The Local Tap for the first time tonight. It was awesome! The burgers were great (one small suggestion... maybe some other cheese options besides American?) and the cheese curds were the best that we've had since moving to the Bloomington/Normal area in May! Can't wait to come back!

Hubby and I went last night for dinner and loved it so much we came back for lunch today! Great food, love the atmosphere. Such a cute outdoor setup! Nick was fantastic! Will definitely be a spot we come often!

Cheese curds were missing the Cheese. Got a basket with a clump of breading. The buns were old and dried out and burgers way overdone as if they were cooked ahead. What happened to this place? Service was meh. But we aren't regulars and weren't consuming alcohol. Also there was a credit card tax on the bill, not a credit card fee. They should ask how you are paying. Don't just add a tax. Live and learn. Definitely won't return here ever again.
