Excellent gin mill. Friendly bartender, mushrooms were great and the jambalaya was out of this world. Go to Cajun Jack's.

The Po' Boys were out of this world! I had the fish - fried in corn meal, always a great choice, and my wife had the fried shrimp. The hushpuppies were some of the best I have had. The best part, I was able to get a great glass of iced tea ABOVE the Ohio River. Definitely recommend!

I started coming here because it's a good lunch spot to use as a riding destination. The food is good. The service has always been good. There is outdoor seating. Last week there was live music outside. And,... there is motorcycle parking out front.

The food was delicious! We weren't sure what to expect from a Cajun restaurant in small-town Illinois, but they sure surprised us! The drinks did take quite a while, and we were there on a Monday evening with only 3 or 4 other tables.Kid-friendliness: The kids loved their food, and all the animals mounted on the walls kept them enthralled.

Man, I love this place! I've been Here 4 Thursdays in a row for Extreme Bar Bingo and the food has been delicious! Very good drinks, delicious reasonably priced food, and a fun atmosphere! ( disclaimer: if you're looking for healthy eating, this is not the place for you)

Please avoid. Absolutely a tourist trap and seafood is frozen and not good at all. Literally took 2 bites and threw it all away. Waste of $40 for 2 people. Find somewhere to eat in Galena.Galena isn't a tourist trap but Cajun Jack's is. Go to Galena. I live in the midwest and plenty of fresh seafood from the Mississippi to be had. Ended up with food poisoning and decided to expand the review after the rude business response. Fish was not even fully cooked. Literally felt terrible for 2 days and only took 2 bites of a $40 meal. Stick to selling alcohol.

We were at a HS Reunion, so it was super loud, but the server was excellent. I tried the Seafood Etouffee for the first time, and it was Delicious! We had a good time.

Was there with a group of 9. Our waiter Tyler (I think) was great. He had great enthusiasm, made sure everything was good and kept checking on us! Plus he handled separate checks like a pro! Will be back!

This is a great place to visit for some hard to find food fare in the Midwest. The oysters, crawtails, shrimp, and gator bites are excellent. They also have sand volleyball and a really chill vibe. Definitely recommend.

Very nice atmosphere inside and outside. The waitress was very nice and made great recommendations! We enjoyed the chicken and mushrooms. They had a small kids menu! The fried fish was bland but they had a good house made sauce and smack ya mama salt available if you wanted it. I personally don’t add salt to food so I tried the sauce and it was flavorful. I would suggest requesting for the shrimp and oysters to be fried hard. Overall a good experience and I’m glad we stopped!Kid-friendliness: My kids liked the decor and the outside seating

TLDR: Trust the reviews that say the food is flavorless and the service is good. I didn't but should have.We were vacationing in Galena and wanted something a little different from the Main St. Galena offerings and decided to drive to Cajun Jack's in Elizabeth. Rte 20 is a nice scenic drive. We went on a beautiful Saturday night, lots of cars in the parking lot, outdoor seating was close to full, but we knew that gnats were starting to be an issue so we took a table inside. Service was attentive and excellent. I wasn't in the mood for fried food so ordered the seafood crepes (which came with a slice of garlic bread) and a side salad. My spouse ordered the trifecta basket ( 3 each of fish fillets, shrimp, & oysters which came with fries, hush puppies, and coleslaw) and a patron frozen margarita. After a scant few minutes, my salad and entree arrived with my wife's drink. The waitress deftly flicked a small piece of lettuce off of her thumbnail and into the styrofoam salad bowl as she placed our items on the table. I removed that piece and ate the salad (lettuce, diced tomato, shredded cheese) while we awaited my spouses entree. The salad was what I expected from a Cajun seafood joint with sand volleyball courts and a large motorcycle parking lot in northwestern Illinois, ie. nothing outstanding but the veggies were fresh. My entree then sat to the side as we awaited my spouses order. Around the time we had assumes they had forgotten her entree...it arrived and we tucked in. My spouse enjoyed the coleslaw and hush puppies. The fish fillets were well breaded and crunchy but flavorless and the fish was mushy. The oysters and shrimp looked great but we're soggy and flavorless, the fries were hot but soggy and flavorless. No salt on anything. My crepes...well let's just say, I think there is a reason I hadn't seen them on a menu before. The cheese sauce on top was super salty. Similarly, my garlic bread was the bottom of a stale hoagie roll (maybe from their poor boy sandwich?) covered in garlic salt and neigh inedible ( my spouse didn't think that garlic bread could be messed up until she tried a bite). The "seafood" (in quotes because I found fake crab meat in it) in the crepes was beyond rubbery to the point of being plastic-like (which may be a result of it sitting in a super heated crepe for 10 min.... but if that's the case... wait to prep and serve them when both entrees are ready). I managed to eat one crepe. We declined a to go box for half my meal and 2/3 of my spouses. We did each help ourselves to a peppermint candy on the way out and joked that it was the best thing we had while there. As an aside, I don't think we were alone in our feelings towards the food that night. Sitting by the door to the outside seating, we noticed a lot of bussed trays coming back similarly half full of food.

Stopped in on a whim to get some late dinner with hopes it would suffice. Safe to say that they blew me out of the water. I had baked fish and it was easily some of the best I've had. I have food allergies and they were incredibly considerate, even checking to make sure using the fryer was okay. My boyfriend has seafood crepes and he said they were better than any seafood bake he's had. Atmosphere was very laid back and "local" in the best way. Definitely would stop again if in the area.

First time there and I should have had seafood which they are famous for. I opted for the daily pot roast special and that was a mistake. The server never checked to see how our meals were, so I'll describe them here.Mushroom Swiss burger. It was just that, nothing special.Pot roast special - the mashed potatoes and gravy were actually pretty good. The mixture of canned green beans and corn may have simmered too long. The "pot roast" was rubbery and tasteless and mostly left on my plate. They did give me a lot though. The place has lots of parking, a cornhole league and a lot of fun things to look at. Could be a great place, but my experience was not the best.
