Great food. Make a reservation and they get you in. Walk ins will wait 20 plus minutes. Good value on wine choices. Pizza fantastic
I had made a reservation for 7:15- when we showed up at 7:10 to check in, they said it would be a few minutes until they could seat us. We waited around 15 minutes until I asked again, which they said it would be a few minutes once again. After another 10 minutes they said a manager was going to go over and talk to the table they we were waiting. Finally after about 30 minutes of waiting we were seated.. we haven't been to Lou Malnati's in a few years, however if I didn't know this was deep dish pizza, I wouldn't have guessed it. When our pizzas came out and were served, they looked like pan pizzas. We had brought family from out of town to try deep dish pizza, and they were confused as well. Our server was attentive and polite.
Pizza - The Lou - was hot and fresh! Salad was delicious! Servicer was outstanding! Overall a great dining experience!
We had a wonderful experience at Lou Malnati's on Higgins in Elk Grove Village. Our server, Frankie set the tone with his friendly and accommodating manner. We were a party of seven and our table was ready for us when we arrived. From that moment on, the service was excellent. Drinks and food arrived at a good pace yet we never felt rushed. Our starters, salads and pizzas were all delicious. All of us agree that Frankie was the primary reason we thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience along with the usual fine quality of food at Lou's.
Salad tasted stale. Pizza was terrible. Mushy no taste. Terrible. Meatballs were cold. Service was fair. Table never cleaned off. Very expensive.
We were visiting from Texas. Our host wanted us to experience Chicago deep dish pizza. We were kindly greeted. They assured that the shape of the table would work. The service was quick. She made us aware of the wait time for pizza. It was early on a Saturday and not crowded. We loved the food. We had a Caesar salad for the table and it was fresh and delicious. The food was hot and we loved it! Highly recommend!!
We brought a group of friends and were very impressed with the ease of booking and availability for this location, as well as the service that we received at this location. Having known what to expect, it delivered on the service and food quality of what one would hope when visiting a Chicago staple. Props to the service delivered by our waitress and thank you for having us.
Got there close to closing time on a Monday, so it was pretty quiet. Started with garden salads, which were huge, loaded with veggies and the dressing (Gorgonzola) must have been store-made as it was amazing! The pizza... YUM! Unique to me, a deep dish about 1/2” thick with a buttery crust. The Classic was loaded with sausage and cheese, light on the sauce. Excellent! Service very attentive and friendly, a surprise at 11:00 pm!
It was a little noisy but we were a party of 8 and being at a long table it was difficult to hear each other. It is a smaller Lou's. I think the Wheeling location is better suited for larger parties because it has several rooms and some are smaller in size. The food is always good and our server was very good with 4 couples each requesting separate checks. Plus having 5 different types of pizza everyone got the pizza they ordered and the waitress served everyone correctly.
Amazing service and food was great as always! I am so appreciative of the gluten free options

Lou's deep dish pizzas are the best around! Their classic has delicious sausage that seemingly covers the whole pizza. I got a gluten-free pizza, which was great too. We also ordered a salad that fed two of us. Overall, the place to go for Chicago's deep dish! You can even order pizzas and get them mailed to you. I wish I could get a gluten-free one mailed to me!
Our server Katrina made the experience exceptional with her attention to detail and customer first attitude.
We prefer the Buffalo Grove location; the staff is overall friendlier and more welcoming there. They weren't particularly rude here, but the one 20 minutes down the road is 10 times better.
We brought a niece from Italy out to try some deep dish pizza. Our server was great and took an interest in whether she like the pizza. Yes of course she did.
The server, I believe her name was Katrina was wonderful. The issue with service was was related to the reservation time. Arrived slightly before reservation time. The reservation meant nothing as we still waited 35-40 minutes after the reserved time. At check-in, was told 5 minutes. 10 minutes after actual time, 5 minutes again..to have to still wait 30 more. The place was packed. Then, while seated, we were greater by a couple big ants on the table. Didn't bother to say anything about that, and stayed as we were hungry and order was already placed.
