Underground Backyard BBQ

Not much of a meat eater (maybe once in a blue moon) and decided to try Underground BBQ. Hands down the best barbecue family owned restaurant here in the 309. The barbecued pulled beef sandwich was sooo damn good ?. Tender & smoked to perfection.

P.S. Nice to have a BBQ family owned restaurant with kosher menu items. Every BBQ joint I was going to eat at here in Peoria; 90% of their menu is pork.

Some of the best barbecue I’ve ever had! Enjoyed great brisket tacos for lunch on Taco Tuesday. Loved the brisket on its own as well as all the wings and sides. The owners are super friendly and make everyone feel welcome.

First time here, and wow this place is fantastic. I had the pulled chicken sandwich with a side of mac n cheese. They were both delicious. Definitely worth the drive!

Good quality was great! The meats and sides we had were all great and the food was out quick. The interior looks nice and the workers were really friendly. The Peach Tea Lemonade was also the best we’ve had and not too sweet! Cant go wrong with any of the sides but my favorites were the baked beans and Mac and cheese.

Friendly staff! Very comfortable atmosphere. Ordered a meat combo and Brisket Mac N Cheese Sandwich combo. All the meats were so tender and delicious! Fries were a perfect crisp!

Loaded potato salad won me over but the Mac n Cheese was my favorite side I tried.

Worth the drive or stop for sure! Will be back and will be bringing friends!

Somewhere in the middle of corn fields, Illinois, they have REAL barbecue. I'm from Texas, and this barbecue can stand up against all the greats. I had a sample plate, and everything was spectacular. The sides also I can't pick a favorite I'll have to come back and try more....

Very friendly spot, the whole family was behind the bar and they all were helpful and chatty. Food was delicious, nothing fancy but way better than driving into Peoria for Chick-fil-A or such
