Greetings! This was the Mother’s Day weekend and I wanted myself and siblings who were both from different states to experience this establishment based on their website . We got there and the items they ordered were not on the menu.
We were told this is a BYOB. I am not sure what was happening. I believe in supporting our local restaurant especially black owned. I was a bit disheartening by the service we received. I am not counting this place out I just think your website should be reflective to what food you are offering including adult beverages.

BEWARE, STAY AWAY. We made a reservation for our family for Mother’s Day Brunch. They advertised it to be from 11-3. They were advertised to serve everything from common breakfast foods to ham, beef tenderloin to salmon with a good handful of sides and a dessert tower. We reserved 2:00 for 6 people. At 12:45 they called me and said their last table came in at 12 and could we come earlier to make sure there is enough food. That should have been the first red flag but we agreed to come at 1:30 because where else would we go on Mothers Day without a reservation. We got there and there were only 2 semi large parties there. The gentleman said there was some food out and they are making more. We were given plates and there were two extras with bugs on both. The food sitting there was extremely cold. That consisted of a couple strips of bacon about 10 sausage links, a few pieces of dried up chicken in warmers that didn’t seem to be working. A plate with cold salmon and a plate with cold tenderloin. The newly cooked food that came out was some bacon, scrambled eggs, French toast, some newly cooked chicken and reheated tenderloin in the microwave that was still not warm enough. The had no glasswear to use for our sodas or water besides mimosa glasses. We were so disgusted but the guys didn’t want to cause a stir and ruin Mothers Day nor bother the other tables. The dessert tower did not exist. He brought out 2 little pieces of cake and 4 mini eclairs. They had us pay when we first got there which we shouldn’t have done. I have never experienced anything so bad. It was like going to someone’s house to eat and they didn’t have enough and they scraped together whatever. All of this is not to mention that they could be shut down for serving cold food.

Sadly, we didn’t get to eat here. Their listing said they opened at 11:00am but their website said 7:00am. We waited until about 11:05 and then called. No one answered the phone but they did call back. They told us they didn’t open till 11.30. We couldn’t wait that long due to an appointment so we went elsewhere.

Unfortunately, their Mother's Day brunch was a fiasco. We waited an hour for the buffet to get set up. Once it was finally ready, there wasn't nearly enough food for the number of customers in line. Everything was cold. We were only offered water, which was room temperature with no ice. We were given butter knives instead of proper table knives, which was odd. We will not be going back.

I would never come back here. They were out of a lot of items. They were closing earlier than advertised. They messed up my order and would not provide any type of accommodation at all! They wouldn't remake my order, nothing off the bill, nothing! No wonder they were empty when we came in there. And there was only one other couple. I do not recommend at all! The staff was terrible including the manager.

The food was okay, my grandpa said the salmon was too dry. I feel like this business can go a long way, but today was terrible. And to add on too it we had to play 102$ ?!?!? Makes absolutely zero sense!

Going to come back and try more! This time just had appetizer crab cakes and wedge salad and a round of drinks! Next time going to try the filet mignon. The food was pretty good, the drinks were overpriced and it was literally $60 with a tip just for that.

Our server, Willie, was great. The garlic parmesan wings were flavorful and fresh. The spinach and artichoke dip lacked seasoning. My chicken balsamic penne was ok, and I liked the flavor of the sauce. My wife enjoyed the baked potato, but she said her cod tasted like a fish stick. It was an ok experience overall.

I went Friday on Jazz night. I can honestly say this was the worst experience I have ever had at any restaurant. Service was awful and the food was terrible. I will never go there again. The Black Foodies are liars.

Willie, the bartender, was awesome!!! He made sure you were happy with your drinks. The food was okay, i ordered the flatbread, and it was very dry. The flatbread lacked marinara and cheese, the two most important. The menu is limited on Saturdays as well . I had a great experience other than the food! Please give them a try!@

Has the worst customer service I ever seen. They need a new waiter or more waiters. This dude is horrible.

Never listening to The Black Foodies again! One guy was the waiter and the bartender for everyone. He was not a bartender, he had to read the drink menu in Order the make the drink. The black bean and carrot tacos were gross. A burnt carrot on top on black beans on a taco shell. You get 2 for $14 dollars. It was jazz night and even with a very limited menu they couldn't keep up. They'll never see me again!! We came across the street to Flossmoor Station after we left and we weren't the only ones!!!!!

Went for a private party birthday celebration on a Saturday from 4-7pm. I think that maybe they were short staffed. There may have been 30 invitees or so with 2 wait staff. The waiters were courteous but possibly overwhelmed. They did their best. There was a limited menu, understandable. However, it took 45 minutes to receive the food. At our table of 6, 4 meals came cold. Others complained of cold food as well. My dish was hot, although it wasn't what I ordered from the menu presented. They offered to take it back, but I accepted it because it was after 6:30, and I didn't want to risk the wait. I overheard other attendees, one ordered a burger, and it was medium rare. It went back to the kitchen, came back pink or medium, they wanted it well done. At our table, someone ordered the 1/3 lb burger. It looked like a frozen patty from the grocery store and was burnt on one side. One guest made it clear that she had a seafood and fish allergy and ordered wings. She and her husband said the wings smelled like they had been fried in oil that had fish. She had no meal that night. Guests started to leave at 7pm. The birthday cake came out around 7:10. Those of us at the door stopped to sing. The cake may have just come out of the oven because the frosting was melting. I included the extensive details so this would not seem like a mean-spirited, dissatisfied rant, just facts. I think that there was only one cook there, but for a business, no excuse. The host of the party booked it based upon reviews. The host apologized to the guests and indicated that she was going to request a reduction in the cost based on the service and cold food. I found out the next day that there was a dispute about the charges, a discount was offered but the party host felt it was not enough, they went back and forth. Per the party host, the owner then locked the doors, and the police were called. The host had to pay more than what she thought the party was worth. She said the owner indicated that nobody complained or sent food back. I witnessed several people complain and send food back. Maybe they weren't ready or able to handle an event.
