Love the thin crust pizza and the old school ambiance. This place hits! The sourdough bread is so fresh and delicious. The antipasta is tasty.

The service was exceptional. They made sure to make my dad’s birthday very special. The pizza was fire. Perfect tavern style pizza and the atmosphere was very pleasant. We will be back again most definitely.

Jimmy's Place Forest Park has become a go-to spot for takeout in our household. We particularly enjoy their chicken parmesan, chicken alfredo, and pizza. When the pizza is cooked perfectly, it's absolutely delicious, but unfortunately, it's often overcooked or burnt. This inconsistency is frustrating, but we keep coming back because, when they get it right, it's worth it.
The main downside to Jimmy's Place is the service. The bartenders always seem put out, and the overall service is less than ideal. On our most recent visit, I was dismissed by James while waiting for our to-go order. Perhaps he thought I was a food delivery person, but regardless, I was ready to order a drink while I waited but was never given the opportunity.
Another issue is the lack of consistency in food preparation. Sometimes our order is ready promptly, while other times there's a significant wait. Despite these challenges, we continue to order takeout because we enjoy the food. However, this has deterred us from dining in, as we'd love to see an improvement in their staffing and customer service.
Despite these issues, Jimmy's Place is capable of accommodating large groups, such as baseball teams or big families, which is a great plus. They also host live entertainment with singers from time to time, adding a lively atmosphere to the dining experience.
They offer outdoor seating, which is perfect for enjoying a meal on a nice day. Parking is convenient, with a lot in the back and street metered parking out front.
Overall, Jimmy's Place gets a 3 out of 5. If they can address their staffing and service issues and improve consistency, we'd be more inclined to dine in and possibly rate them higher.

Our extended family of 24 requested an earlier time to celebrate a feast together, and they honored our quest. The food was timely and delicious with service of perfection. Our memories are precious there. We are eternally grateful and will return!

Excellent service. Large portions. Food was okay but not great. Handmade gnocchi is what I had. It was handmade but not very flavorful and not rolled like normal ones. Came with salad with plenty of lettuce, 2 olives, small part of a tomato. Table bread was okay but only olive oil and cheese, I like butter. Bread wasn't warm but it was bread.4 adults and 1 child, 4 wines, a lemonade and a Guinness and a sprite. Almost $200 with tip.

This Italian gem of a restaurant is a dying breed as far as having delicious authentic Italian food and the attentiveness and kindness of the staff. Jim the owner goes to every table and checks to be sure everything is fine.
Blackboard Menu! As well as a phenomenal regular menu makes the place have the feel of an.old time atmosphere.
