My boyfriend and I had a very disappointing experience at Scratch Public House. When we walked in, the restaurant was nearly empty; only six patrons total, four of whom were seated at the bar. The bartender, who also seemed to be acting as the front-of-house staff, completely ignored us as we entered and sat at the bar. He continued a casual conversation with two other patrons without offering us menus or even acknowledging our presence.
After waiting patiently, I had to interrupt their conversation to request menus. The bartender seemed visibly irritated by the request. A few minutes later, he asked if we were ready to order, and I responded that we were still reviewing the menu and deciding whether to dine there or try another place nearby. Without a word, he took our menus from us and said, “When you decide, we’ll be here”; even though we were still actively looking at them.
That was the final straw. We left immediately and ended up at Rhythm & Blues down the street, where the staff was warm, welcoming, and accommodating. The food there was fantastic, and the atmosphere was everything Scratch lacked. Based on our experience, we won’t be returning to Scratch Public House and wouldn’t recommend it to others looking for friendly service and a welcoming environment.

We order online through grub hub.. yet public house delivers on their own.. but e get nothing. Call the restaurant and no answer. What restaurant is closed on Wednesday night. I can’t stand the incompetence… won’t order from here again.

This was our first time at this place. The service was pretty great and really friendly. The food was OK. The meatball appetizer was really weird. It smelled funny. We would go back just to see if this was just an off day with the food.

The food was ok, I had a burger, and it was cooked too hard, so they took it back and re-did it for me. The fries were good, just under seasoned. The pickle fries were really good.

Popped in here whilst staying 1 night in Forest Park. AMAZING PLACE. We had just landed from the UK. Staff were warm, friendly, welcoming, and helpful, giving us recommendations for coffee in the morning. If you are in the area, don't miss their hospitality.
Sunday 6/23 me and my companion arrived right when the doors opened which we were the first ones in. The server took our drink order and did not take our food order which we had to go look for her to place it. She disappeared. A party of six came in and a party of two also came in 25 minutes later. We decided to move to the patio since it was nice outside We spent out there quite a while and still no food. Once my companion went back inside you noticed that both parties had already been served We have been there over an hour and still no food. At this point you became very upset and decided to leave. The server did not prioritize us I feel some type of way about it. She decided to make us last when we had been there first since the door open. The owner Kevin was unapologetic and blase' about the occurrence. I like this place but unfortunately it was such a bad experience that I don't know if I will ever give them another opportunity for business!
