Pretty typical Midwestern family restaurant. The building is tired and outdated, but they serve consistent food. You know what you're gonna get.

Bad to mediocre food with crazy prices. I viewed the menu posted on here for prices since they're no where online and they're way higher than what's listed there, so it must be outdated. We got the 3 tacos and tampiquena and it ended up being $40! (Thought it was 9.99 for the tacos and 13.99 for tampiquena.) As many people posted on here, there is no receipt or explanation on how they got to that price. We didn't get any drinks or additions. No utensils or napkins given with a to-go order either.
Rice was really strange - it was actually sweet. Salsa tasted sweet as well, like it was just tomato sauce. They somehow weren't sweet in the same way though. Ordered steak tacos and they came American style (despite wanting cilantro and onion) and were completely unseasoned and dried out - they didn't even add salt or pepper. The corn tortillas tasted like wheat. Incredibly disappointing.
The tampiquena was actually pretty good - it was seasoned and came with nicely sauteed veggies. The refried beans we liked as well, they were seasoned with plenty of cumin.
If this town had other options, there's no way this place would be open. I'll drive a few minutes west to get something decent for a much better price.

Forest IL is a very small town. I was stuck here for truck load delivery. I walked about 0.6 and saw this beautiful small restaurant. I have enjoyed here chicken taco ?, which was so good and delicious ?.

Small hole in the wall restaurant. Locals seem to love it. 6 or 7 came in to pick up orders. I had the burger it was good plus fresh hot fries. The place needs some updating or just some paint. Also a waitress that understands English. Had to place our order 2 times.

Had breakfast at 2pm 2 eggs over easy hashbrowns and bacon was all freshly made unlike alot of the saronding restaurants that served bacon and hashbrowns that have been sitting on the grill for hours.
