well i feel like i should charge them for such a boring night. or ask for my money back. besides being at a table with people who were enjoyable to converse with, the night was BOOOORING. $200 for a meal that was the quality of $10 and you have to BUY your own drinks (not even a comp drink in the price)
1. i got the ravioli (cold and dry ravs the sauce was good but not enough to enjoy)
2. hubbs got the steak meal he said the steak was decent (overcooked) but got him through until we went to mcdys at midnight lolz
3. the way the room is setup theres 2-3 big pillars sitting in the middle of the room that blocks the tiny stage. where we sat i only was able to see one corner of the stage where one of the "actors" sat the whole "show"
4. the main guy would have been better on his own or the show would have been better as a tour where they could act out the scene where it supposedly happened š¤·š¾āāļø
either way, not only did we walk out a few other parties ended up walking out as well.
*could have been the fact they tried to tell us we couldnt use the restroom once the show started, then cut off the drinks*
take it as you will. next time ill def do Matthews tour or just explore the city ourselves
We were looking for a nice dinner in Galena. Considered Generals or Log Cabin but I found this. Honestly at $80-90 a head for a Saturday night it was higher end for Galena prices, but we figured it was dinner and a show. It was pretty much worth it! Our kid (6) had a nice time too but $80+ for a kids ticket is a little high. If you bring the family, ask for plain food when you arrive for picky eaters as mine is not much one for gravy and herbs all over sometimes. Think of this ticket as 50% food value and 50% performance value. We dined with probably 25 others and about 8 diners were asked to play roles including me and my 6yo. The filet was good, watch out for buried toothpicks. The mashed potatoes were good as were the veggies. Up to expectations. The show was interactive, energetic and fun. Well done performance. The pace kept things moving and our family was never bored! Time well spent overall. Would repeat with friends or visitors.

Had a great time. Very fun. Actors were extremely engaging, entertaining and funny. Worst steak Iāve ever had in my life (burnt to a crisp) - so donāt go for the food.
We had a lot of fun seeing Darryl Moon and the screwlywed show @ Ameliaās under the lamplight dinner theater. The ambiance was inviting and felt like you were visiting an old friend for a dinner party! The food was delicious and was served at the perfect intervals to enjoy the meal and also take part in the show. The crowd was lively but it was mingle or donāt - either is acceptable. The game show was quite fun!The salad was fresh lettuce and side of ranch and a warm roll, Iād assume the most accommodating for mid-westerns like myself! The main course was 3 options (ordered at booking) I had the chicken Marcella and my partner had the Bacon wrapped filet mignon both had a side of mash and mixed veggies. It all tasted fresh and homemade, like I said cozy friends dinner party!! Perfect serving size & drinks to order. The dessert was delish! I had chocolate cheesecake And my partner had strawberry cheesecake, both were delicious and fresh! The staff was fantastic and were on the ball with all the guests (39, sold out show!)We will definitely be back; for whatever event is here, thanks Amelia and team!!!Darryl was hilarious and we Will try to catch another show!
We went for the murder mystery dinner. DO NOT GO! Amelia was incredibly rude. We walked into the ātheaterā the day before to get old time photos for our girls trip. She rudely informed us the second we opened the door āthey were closedā. When we showed up for the dinner, we were seated. Someone came by, took our drink order. We had prepaid $94 per person. We ordered sodas. Our āsaladā came. It was a plate of lettuce. Our dinner came. It was cold, and had no seasoning. 2 salmons, 1 filet and 1 chicken dish. All 4 of us felt the same, cold/bland. The dinners were so poorly delivered that by the time we got them we were supposed to get up and ask around for questions. First, way too cramped to get up and move around to other tables. Second, we didnāt want to leave our already cold food on the table while people were moving around the room. Then we couldnāt eat because the tables that had been served were coming to ask us questions. Ok, time for dessert. 1 plain cheesecake piece, 1 bowl of bananas sliced with āfostersā sauce on it, 2 pieces of FROZEN banana cream pie. To be clear, it wasnāt to be served frozen. Whatever. We then get a BILL. After paying $94 per person for the āmealā we were charged 4.50 for each soda/refill. Gratuity was to be included when we paid. Then we were told that was just on the food. We still needed to pay server/bar. Amelia said āif you canāt afford to pay, donāt eat outā This statement was made after I suggested at least inform us of refill cost. Amelia said this was standard at all restaurants in Galena. NOT TRUE AMELIA. We ate at Embe (excellent) Bread and Vine (delish) Vinny Vanucchiās (wonderful) Gobbieās (yummy) fried green tomatoes (scrumptious) and finally Dillonās (AMAZING local joint), not one of these restaurants charged for refills.
Had a great time!
What a great and fun night in Galena! The murder mystery with Warren Peace was outstanding and interactive. The actors did a great job and kept the night moving right along. The food was terrific (steak option) and I'd love to go back for the next show.
Amazing evening !!Mc was none stop funny, game show was a hoot and supper was fabulous ?
Daryl moon was very funny, food was good, Amelia was very rude, very unprofessional, definitely will not go back and we told her that, she said good because sheās closing in a month anyway, I can see why!!

Not a fan. Would not recommend
This review is for Amelia's under the lamplight dinner theater featuring Daryl Moon. My husband and I had so much fun!!! Daryl Moon was excellent! Very funny and definitely entertaining. We played the screwlywed game, a different take on the newlywed game, and it was one of the best times that we've ever had. If you're in Galena and Daryl Moon is performing definitely reserve a spot!
How fun was the mystery dinner theater!! I was even voted the best actress!

The production was campy and the food was terrible. For the steep price you pay, I would at least expect a decent meal.
Show was amazing, food could be improved a bit but you come for the show. Well worth the price.
