We had a fantastic time on Valentine’s Day ! Our server was absolutely amazing! She kept checking in on us to see if we needed anything. She was fabulous! ( we rented one of the igloo’s and it was a perfect night ) The Margaritas are the best we’ve had in the Midwest ! We’ll definitely be back soon !

We visited Galena for a birthday weekend and took a hotel recommendation for Campeche Restaurant. It was a huge disappointment, especially considering how expensive it was for the quality provided. We ordered the shrimp tacos and steak enchiladas, but both were completely flavorless. The shrimp had a strange, off-putting texture and tasted like it had just been boiled without any seasoning, while the steak was incredibly dry. Honestly, you would get more flavor and better value for your money at Taco Bell.

Server was awesome. The chunky guac was good but the rest was just ok. The margarita was great! We were sat next to a large loud party even tho it didnt seem that busy. I think it woulda been better seated elsewhere.

This is our favorite restaurant in Galena. The food is authentic Mexican food with a lot of choices. The staff here are always friendly, and the service is always top notch. The heated outdoor igloos are a nice option for outdoor dining in the winter.

Our experience at Campeche Restaurant was nothing short of incredible! My husband and I went with friends and we chose to sit outside in their outdoor heated igloo, which made for an abundantly enjoyable experience. Joe was our server and he was exceptionally personable, fun, attentive, & professional. He fist-bumped us all goodbye and we made sure to let him know how much he resembled Sam Elliot! I had a Fresca Margarita and the fresh sliced cucumbers made the most idyllic touch! We can’t wait to go back!

Atmosphere was awesome!! Our server was super nice. The appetizers were great and drinks fantastic. We got the tacos and they were horrible. No flavor at all, i love chorizo but not from here. Could make better tacos at home so I do not recommend.

My wife and I found this place about 5 years ago when visiting galena. The food was outstanding. Especially the fajitas. Their fajitas are what got a searching for Mexican restaurants in our home City that could cook like these fajitas. Regrettably when we went there this past Saturday October 11th 2025 they had changed the menu and we're not accommodative one bit. It was what the menu had or nothing. The fajitas used to have a variety of great vegetables and even some potatoes. Now all you get is onions and beans. That's it. We opted for a different dish and it was so bad with no taste or flavor I felt bad for hours and hours afterwards. I do not recommend this place to family or friends or anyone. So sad they changed the menu and are not accommodative at all.

We visited during Oktoberfest weekend, so we made a reservation just to be safe. I’m not sure if that’s normally necessary, but I didn’t want to risk it. The morning of, we noticed the weather was perfect and asked to move our reservation outside — they accommodated us with no problem.

They started us off with chips and pico de gallo. I asked for extra salsa roja and salsa verde. The pico had a nice kick, the roja had a smoky flavor, and the verde was more on the roasted side. Unfortunately, I wasn’t a big fan of the verde, which was a bummer since it’s usually my favorite. The chunky guac, though, was a solid 10/10.

The margarita flights were 30% off, so that was an easy choice. Tons of flavor options to pick from, which was fun. For my main, I went with the Suizo burrito topped with melted Chihuahua cheese. I didn’t love it — maybe I’m spoiled living in the Quad Cities where we’ve got incredible Mexican spots on every corner. Something about it just felt a little off.

To top it off, we were constantly swatting away flies at our table, which didn’t help. Still, the service was great — our server was super friendly and attentive. Overall, it was a good dinner, and I’d definitely go back… just to try something different next time.
