Went out for our last dinner during our stay in Galena, chose Durty Gurt’s. Got seated right away, Jeanette (sp) was our waitress, took our drink orders really quickly, got our food orders in and our food came out super fast. All of our food was hot and terrific, I got a bowl of chili to start that was just delicious. My tombstone burger and sweet potato waffle fries were really done well.

Service could NOT be worse! It seems like the staff is so sick of working in customer service. If you don’t feel like offering customer service, get a desk job or something where you don’t have to interact with people on a daily basis. I’m sure they are busy, which is why they are so comfortable being awful humans, because they know they are still going to make enough money to keep their decrepit doors open. Durty Gurt should close up shop and do something that doesn’t involve working with the public. Dear tourists: If you’re looking for a good meal after a lovely day, go literally anywhere else. You’d get a better experience at your local gas station and better food from the trashcan outside Fried Green Tomato’s. Save your time and your money!!

I’m vegetarian and I struggled to find a place that I could eat in Galena. Online it says that Durty Gurt’s has veggie burgers and so I was looking forward to trying it. When I went for dinner, we arrived over 40 minutes before they closed and they rudely denied us entry. Usually when I restaurant closes, they allow seating up until they close so I was confused and frustrated. We went the next day to try to be seated and they denied us again because we had our bird in our backpack. While frustrating, I do understand the legal issues when it comes to having an animal indoors. However, what I do not understand is why the owner had to be so incredibly rude in denying us. The hostess had suggested that we order to go and when we went to do so, the owner spoke to us like we were stupid and told us that they were not doing to go orders. There was really no reason for the owner to be so incredibly rude to us and if you want good and kind service, this is NOT the place to go.

We decided to visit based on the great reviews and fun photos of the restaurant. The service was great. Our waitress was nice and attentive. We had a spill and they were quick to come help clean it up kindly. Food was ok. None of us loved the food except for the shakes and I felt it was overpriced. Overall, it was an ok experience.

The burgers we're good but the appetizers was not it. Service was amazing she was positive and nice. Atmosphere was not as good it was freezing cold that my sister needed to step outside for a few minutes.

Our server was great and full of energy. The burgers were delicious, however the appetizers weren’t the best I’ve had. Along with that, it was busy in the restaurant and there were people everywhere so I understand the rush. My only big negative thing was that customers were being sat and the servers were almost ramming into them and not saying anything. They couldn’t even step to the side for a second or even say excuse me.

Had the Tombstone burger, says it has pepper jack cheese on it. Tasted nothing of the sort. Burger was cooked perfect but lacked any seasoning. We also had the veggie burger, which again lacked any flavor.

Group of five, one had the grouper seafood, other four all had various burgers, seasoned fried, regular fries, and sweet potato fries. Food was good, large half pound burgers, but more on the ordinary side, have had both worse ones and better ones. Prices in line with other Galena restaurants, obviously a tourist destination so a little pricey as would be expected. Server was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu.
