My wife and I came to Galena to celebrate our 10-year wedding anniversary. For our Saturday night dinner, we decided to go to Log Cabin, hoping to celebrate the occasion properly. When I called to make our reservation, I let the staff know we were coming in for our 10-year anniversary. When we arrived, I also mentioned it to the host (the bald gentleman with glasses). He responded with, “Well, your wife is right behind you—there goes the surprise,” as if she wouldn’t know it was our anniversary. At no point during the evening did anyone acknowledge our celebration or even say “Happy anniversary.” I even asked our waiter, Pat M., whether anyone had told him we were celebrating anything. He said no—that no one had informed him we were there for our anniversary. We didn’t come expecting free food, dessert, or anything special. But not acknowledging our anniversary at all—especially after we mentioned it twice—was frustrating. Every other place we’ve celebrated at has at least offered a simple “Happy anniversary,” if not a dessert, flowers on the table, or a personalized menu. Log Cabin truly dropped the ball, and I believe the host is largely to blame.

Our first time there last Sunday and we enjoyed it! Our steaks were delicious and medium well. Mine was a bit too red but they took it back to heat it and all was fine! My hubby had the surf and turf with the Greek chips, which he truly liked. Shrimp were huge and batter dipped. Our server Zach was very attentive and informative. Will definitely go back!

Expensive. Our server was excellent. The food was to die for. If you want to spend between $40 and $50 per person and have a great meal, this is the place to go in Galena, IL

Our second visit in about 3 years for our anniversary. Reservation is required. Last time I got the ribeye this time the New York Strip.
Both were delicious. I like how the put like a bark on it making the outside a bit crispy, which my wife didn't care for. This year we went to Galena a week earlier to go to Octoberfest.

Excellent meal! We had six people and showed up 20 minutes early for our reservation. Staff was very accommodating in finding us a table early. I had the Tomahawk Pork Durok with the Greek fries. The pork was terrific, some of the best I've ever had but the Greek fries were uninspiring. Table bread, appetizers, and desserts were all very good to excellent. The atmosphere is that of a supper club which was enjoyable. Will definitely return!

Called days ahead for reservations for 6 people told they don’t take reservations. Drove almost 2 hours got there when they opened only to be told 6 people could not sit together. Only tables of 4. Treated rude. Ended up going to Fried Green Tomatoes. Great food and great service.

Food was great and every time we're in the area we have to make a stop because my wife insists on them having the best prime rib

I'm bias. Almost 60 and remember going to the log cabin when I was 6 years old. Not spectacular, but a decent place to eat when in town!

Ok. A few things here...and i know they have been around forever.....
The service was good. It always is....I actually think its a little too dark in here...and I do like a dark place.
The meat is really good, I would expect nothing less for Allen Brothers.
But here's where it gets 4 stars....
I think for what they are charging they need to be just a tad more varied. It was a Saturday night....there were no specials....hmmmm....
I heard a few people around us ask for mashed potatoes. The waiter said we dont do mashed potatoes....
Ok, you're a big steak place...put it on the menu.
Especially with the average age of your clientele.
Also, what distinguishes you from other supper clubs?
I want you to really think about this one. Listen, your location alone is going to dictate you being busy...but what sets you apart?
I tried the smoked bacon as an appetizer.
Really expected it to have a phenomenal sauce or something....nadda. Matter of fact, there was nothing to go with it. It was something that I've easily done at home.
Get creative...in sauces, in presentation...in menu choices. It will not only make it a place that people hit when they are in Galena, but a place they will talk about and go back to as well.
Hope this helps.

Excellent food and service. We enjoy dinner here every time we are in Galena. We had the prime rib special and orange roughy. Both dishes were most enjoyable. Saganaki is always great as an appetizer.
