As far as McDonald's goes, this one is very good for the quality of the food. Service is friendly and while you move through the drive-thru quickly, you are going to wait. Regardless if there's no one else in the line you will be asked to pull forward and wait for your food, yes, even for one cheeseburger. I'm not sure if they're implementing the same kind of thing Culver's does, but just think of it that way. Then you won't be upset when you're asked to pull forward. It doesn't bother me, but there have been a few times where the wait has been absurd, but on those times the manager came out to the car with an apology and a coupon for a free meal...so you really can't beat that. They're kind and the restaurant is clean.

My family eats at this McDonald's often. Sometimes multiple times a week. Which is why it's disheartening to say we won't be returning. After experiencing numerous occasions over the years where the quality of food is poor and/or the order is not accurate it has become plainly obvious that the focus of this McDonald's (from ownership to the crew) is not on treating each customer as their #1 customer but instead on monetizing customer interactions with little regard for how their dining experience is received. Since the service interruptions of COVID-19 redirected the attention to the drive-thru and curbside pickup, the focus of providing top rated service to ALL their customers has greatly dwindled. From the remodeled kitchen that created a barrier to seeing customers standing at the front counter, to the inattentive attitude of crew filling drive thru orders when they are aware of a dining room customers presence, it is no surprise that one can wait at the front counter for service longer than it takes 3 cars to place orders in the drive thru, resulting in waits exceeding 10 minutes to get "fast food". I am not a one-time customer upset with a single mistake. I am a repeat customer who has had interactions with almost every manager at this location due to the poor quality of service provided me. The truly disappointing thought is that there is a high probability that I am not the only customer to experience such inattentive and inpersonal service. I worked in the food service and hospitality business for 12 years, working my way up to management, and I still work in a customer service oriented environment today. I am the customer that walks through your doors and quietly observes how you are operating your business and treating your customers. I judge from experience and observe from expectation. The simple fact is this--Galena,IL does not offer a wide selection of fast and affordable food to feed your family while on the run. This location does business because it is a part of a multi-national restaurant chain that generations of families have come to love. It generates revenue exactly because it is McDonald's, not because of the way in which they value and treat the customer. This is the lowest rated restaurant in Galena based on customer reviews. It is a rating appropriately given by those that were served. In any other community, and without the name "McDonald's" it is a business that would have been forced to shutter it's doors a long time ago. The ownership of this location has shown it's indifference to their status as the lowest rated restaurant in town by failing to address blatantly obvious yet highly correctable mistakes. As a customer, you should show the same indifference and spend your money elsewhere. Because "I'm Sorry" just doesn't ring with truth anymore.

The first few times i went to this mcdonald's the food was the best in the state, I've been to other mcdonald's and they always have a shitty attitude and always get the orders wrong. But the last 2 times I've been there the food hasn't been that good.

Parking: I had to wait numerous times through drive through! So Ordered ahead of time on the app to still wait! I worked at McDonald when I was a teenager we got food out in less then 110 seconds! One of the fastest McDonalds!

It would have been an average McDonald’s visit if the “frozen drinks weren’t half melted, the fries and burgers were cold, and I hadn’t been waiting 15 minutes for my drive thru order. By the time my order arrived the drinks were almost completely melted.
